Family meal I read the previous review from Hannah and was very surprised. We also visited 2 days ago - family of 8.

We booked here after reading the great reviews -our first visit, I had no problem ringing up and reserving our table.

We found the staff were fantastic, it was an extremely busy Friday evening but as soon as we stepped through the door we were greeted very warmly by Ellen and shown immediately to our table, she was so attentive and friendly.

Two members of our family were running 1/2 hour late and the staff were fantastic about it we weren't rushed in any way.

The food is all home cooked and delicious, well plated and good portions sizes.

The menu selection is vast, even a smaller appetite menu, people don’t realise that this makes it extremely difficult for the chefs having to order in all these ingredients , prep and cook for such a large menu choice- so credit to the chefs and kitchen team, they work very hard!!

My omelette I chose was so yummy it was totally delicious, we all agreed how nice the food was. My favourite dessert was on the menu so I was well pleased - biscoff cheesecake - Mmmm….delicious😋😋

It was a fantastic night, I can’t fault the staff at all, they were all very attentive. It’s a lovely place to visit and we will be definitely...

Have visited this pub many times since new ownership. On many occasions on a lunch time food has been delicious and we love the new layout of the pub. However on a previous visit six of us dined together, the pub was really busy in the evening and two were disappointed with their meal and did not get what they ordered but it was between lockdowns and as everyone was struggling we put it down to experience. Tonight however when we placed our 2 course food order there were no other customers. Within half an hour there were 2 other tables. When our starters had not arrived half and hour after ordering and the next table were receiving their main course we asked where our food was. A waitress said well I placed your order it's not my fault it didn't go through to the kitchen. I said well it's not our fault either. She said I am apologising. I said well we haven't heard the word sorry yet. She said I am not paid enough to take your attitude. We will not be giving a third chance. It seems a terrible shame that the pub has been redecorated and looks lovely and when they get it right the food is great but it is inconsistent and while the some staff are lovely there are elements that are letting...

First time visiting and sadly the food was so disappointing which was a shame due to us celebrating a birthday. There was no drinks menu. The starters were lovely however took approx 30 minutes to arrive. 3 out of 4 of the main meals were a let down. The one that was tasty was the mixed grill. The disappointing ones were - Salmon in a cream sauce: The sauce filled up half the plate it was starting to make me feel sick. Gammon Steak: Chewy. Steak: Asked for medium rare and a whole chuck of it was rare and the fat was so tough it was hard to cut through. I would say this was one of the worst meals I have had in a long time. The main meals were priced at around £17 plus which for the the quality of food is definitely well overpriced. No-one came to check on us to ask if the food was all ok. At the end I did complain to the waitress which is something I have never done and she did take all the drinks off the bill. However, I still paid just under £100 for food that wasn't up to scratch baring in my mind that price included no dessert. The staff were lovely. There was...

We come to this beautiful venue a few times year, we have never been failed in any aspect of our meals, the bar staff are so helpful and the service is always swift. We enjoyed another meal tonight where we both had the black rock grills. Because that's our favourite. However we have also had multiple family birthdays also. I can't recommend this place enough and for what you get the price isn't to expensive! Cheesy garlic bread is an absolute must as a side and the fish is also the size of a bat! Lovely people, lovely place.

First time I've been there for years, and what a great pub it is! First class beer, top quality food, and exceptionally friendly and professional staff! Excellent all round, Cheers!! Update - I've been going there for a few years now, and I still think this place is fantastic! The staff are always lovely, and the food has always been tremendous. Brilliant pub and a beautiful view from the beer garden, just tops off this magnificent pub
