Had the displeasure of visiting this establishment yesterday along with a group of old friends, we were in the area attending a clay pigeon shoot organised by friends to cheer up a couple of the gentleman in our group who had been through a tough time recently. On arrival we made our way to the rear of the pub where the large car park was located, myself and one of the other gentlemen entered the pub from the rear entrance into the small bar, behind the bar was a gentleman offering service and a lady who was emptying the glass washer, the gentleman was taking the drinks order from my friend when the lady looked up and made a comment along the lines of " I hope none of your group are drunk? We won't have any bad language in here, it will absolutely not be tolerated" , we reassured the lady that none of our group was drunk and we would adhere to her strict no foul language rule. At this point she continued to remove glasses from the washer tray then make her way out to another room behind the bar while another gentleman came to help with service. This sort of questioning may be suitable for a stag group or bunch of young foul mouthed chavs, but the fact that we were 12 men aged between 47 - 61, including company directors, production managers, union officials, qualified chefs, all with grown families and this being only the second pub we'd visited after our shoot so none of the party were anywhere near drunk or foul mouthed was absolutely shocking. To make the assumption that a group of men who didn't have a Gower accent ( we're from port talbot and hirwaun) were there to get drunk and swear in front of children and a wedding party is the finest example of poor customer service and snobbery, we'd actully visited the pub because one of our group specifically wanted us to go there, they'd heard it may be suitable for their daughters wedding next year and wanted to have a look around the premises and speak with the owners about the planning and pricing for such events, they have now lost a possible wedding booking and everyone of our group will be deterring any of our family, friends, work colleagues or business acquaintances from using this establishment, I feel sorry for the gentleman who served us as he obviously felt uncomfortable with the questions being asked and could see our displeasure at being spoken to in this way. If my friend hadn't already made his order and was in the process of being served we would have all left the premises without handing over 1 penny over the bar, luckily for them we were able to rise above one persons snobbery, completed our order, drank our drinks, managed not to swear or abuse any of the wedding party outside and went on our way. First and last time my money will be handed over the bar while the current owners / management are...

They do a small selection of sandwiches and some small hot food dishes, the Gower bake is lovely. There's a car park with plenty of room and an overflow field is sometimes used. The beer garden is huge and gets plenty of sun, it has great views of the estuary and the neighboring church. The garden has a play area for children with a slide and a swing and there are chickens to see too. In the winter the fire is always light and the locals can be quite...
