As the 3 stars suggest... OK.

When we got there (just before the lunchtime rush) it was quiet. I noted at least 3 waiting staff stood about not doing a lot. We were seated quickly and orders taken. While waiting... We noticed things like the table condiments were grubby and grime (perhaps the waiting staff could have been tasked to or even proactively cleaned the place a little? While in a quiet period). Table surface damaged and a harbour for germs. Food/gravy/drink splatters dried up on the wall and architrave next to our table. Tired carpets and toilets badly in need of overhaul.

Food was nice, to be fair... Meats were tasty and the portions weren't bad... (Though you get bigger across the river.)

Veg came piled into stupidly small and unsteady bowls.

Gravy was lovely and there was plenty of it. Plenty of roasties too... But they could have done with being roasted some more.

All this is somewhat acceptable given the general standards in Pembrokeshire.... That is, until the bill hits you. £21.95 for a mixed meat Sunday dinner. Really? Sorry... Not worth that.

2 adult Sunday dinners and two children's chicken and chips with one round of non-alcoholic drinks set me back nearly £70. In my personal opinion, based on our experience that's too much. I wouldn't go back there and would not recommend.

Sorry if it sounds harsh... But just not good enough to be charging...

we went in sat at the table give a polite girl but then the other woman came out of the back to have some food and when we was waiting for food to come this woman (manager) was slaging customer off and bad mouthing them and asked the waitress to call a party of 8 that booked a table for drink and tell them that they have to give the table away but the pub was empty then the food came as we asked for one well done ribbeye and medium rare but both was rare and went to pay and they over charged me by giving me the wrong bill and lucky my mother was working it out and seen this and then trying to get a refund back was a night mere as the manager didn't know the refund code but then like magic she did

I can honestly tell everyone I won't be going back there unless they have a new manager or staff or new owner

the old owners was the best shame they have left

to sum it up bad customer service by management food was bad slagging off customer they are asking for drink and measure they wanting

I am hoping the refund will go through with out a issue so I don't need to go back there its a shame as it was a lovely friendly place for good food

the only good thing about this place was the young waitress and the bar man as they was polite I told them the issue and what I thought about it the staff...

Have been coming somewhat regularly since 2021, had really enjoyed each visit and left a previous positive review. However last time we visited was for a family members birthday - the weather took a crazy turn on our way and it was a miracle we found a road not too flooded to get there. Some of the family are local to the restaurant and got there on time, however the birthday girl and the rest of the family were delayed due to the road conditions. We were greeted by a rude member of staff declaring that we are late and will mess up table bookings - when I sat at the table my sister said she had been rude to her also while she was waiting for us, and then my mother asked if we could finish our starters before the mains came as they started to bring them out, she was told that it was not possible and it was our fault for being late. The place was mostly empty, and we hung around at the water side for 30 mins or so afterwards and noone else came in. The food was great but the service was unbelievably poor for the price paid. Most of our family work in hospitality/catering and it was a shock to the system to experience this off of the young, I can only assume, manager. We haven't been since as it has kind of ruined our enjoyment of...

Fantastic Pub, fantastic food and fantastic staff. If you are in the area definitely try and get in here to eat, located in a lovely area of Pembroke dock, the pub inside is a typical old British country pub, lots of pictures of ships, models of ships and has a cosey feel to it. The menu has a good mix of seafood, grill food and your classic pub food (burgers, pies) I had the prawn cocktail to start and the 10oz sirloin for my mains, i like my steak rare touching medium, most pubs i have been to when you ask for a steak to be rare it comes out medium. Well not here they got the steak absolutely spot on, in fact it was a bit too rare for myself so i asked for it to be done just a little longer and there was absolutely no problem with them doing so. Highly recommend and I’ll definitely be going back when i am next in the area.

We arrived around 13:00 on Monday 02/09/24 after seeing it on Google and food looked really nice. It's in a nice location with a nice view if the Bridge and river. There is a small pebble beach and a nice veranda seating area, sadly although the sign outside stated it was open 12:00 to 21:00 everyday apart fron Sunday when it closes at 20:00 the door was locked and it was in darkness. Not even a note on door to say closed or apologise. We went over the bridge to the Jolly Sailor which is opposite. We may try again if we are passing as we are in the area for a few days.

Pub is in a really nice setting by the water with outside seating. Staff were friendly, but food as a let down. There was 8 of us for dinner ordering a mix of items, the portion sizes overall are really good for the money you get a decent sized meal. When the food came out we were looking forward to the meal, however the taste of all the fried items was not good. The chips, onion rings, and cod all had a funny taste, likely that the oil in the fryers has not been changed recently and it really let down the experience overall.
