shocking honestly. ordered a coke zero and explained that i have gestational (pregnancy) diabetes, and i was served regular coke, i knew this because i could taste the difference and regular coke is also sticky. i sent it back and told them the issue and they gave me a replacement - which was ANOTHER regular coke. the third time i went back and explained again that i am diabetic and keep being served regular cokes, the bartender LAUGHED and then gave me a coke zero that was actually in a labelled bottle instead of in a glass this time. after getting home, i tested my blood sugar and my blood sugar has now spiked. gestational diabetes is so potentially harmful for the mother and baby, so i am so upset and angry with the negligent staff that were working this evening as i have managed my blood sugars perfectly with in range readings until i get served a drink full of sugar after asking for the zero sugar version, this is my first high reading. also the security guard/bouncer kept smoking cigarettes near me and even blowing them in my direction in the enclosed outdoor area that has walls and a ceiling, which also has a ‘no smoking’ sign at the exit and entrance. bare in mind that there is a fully open outdoor area only a couple of feet away which you are allowed to smoke in. he could also see that i was pregnant as i noticed him stare at my stomach a few times, i’m currently eight months pregnant and have an absolutely massive bump so it cannot be missed. so all i could smell and breathe in was cigarette smoke, he watched me trying to waft it away too and just continued as he was. so with these two negligent issues by the staff, i am now worried for my baby’s wellbeing, pregnant women should be able to eat out in public without having their and their baby’s well-being’s endangered. strongly recommended to...
Read moreMy partner’s birthday experience I contacted the lion but I received no reply Good morning, only now I have had the chance to message you. Congratulations on winning the best pub in Great Britain. However, my experience wasn’t very good on Saturday. Myself and my partner booked a table for 2 under the name of Brian leg for my partner’s birthday. When we arrived the table that was reserved for us someone else was sitting there so we was given another table. The bar man picked up the glasses on the table that we were given. We waited 10 minutes for the table to be cleaned, so my partner had to go up to the bar to ask if it could be cleaned which he came over and cleaned it. We ordered our meal soon as we got there, 40 minutes went by still no sign of our meal coming, my partner went back up the bar and asked if they had forgotten about us she said you still haven’t had it have you, we waited another 10 minutes then had our meal the lady that brought our meal did apologise. I was very disappointed with the service and the state of the table especially when it was my partner’s birthday we were celebrating. I hope this doesn’t happen again for...
Read moreNot had food there so can't comment on that but see it comes out on boards. What's wrong with a plate! The pints on the other hand I have tried and I can say it's one of the worst pints in the valleys. The lager is like piss it's that bad. So bad I had to switch to a short and mixer very early in the night. I wonder if they do clean the lines once a week by law or if there is a problem with the co2 getting to the pump?! The new inn has recently reopened and does a much better pint. Gets two stars as they recently brought in a couple of decent beers, rev James and hobgoblin gold were both nice pints and doom bar when they have it is ok as well. I only attend as it's got sky sports but usually no where to sit on weekends as the band takes up some of the seating area and the Booths are taken up pretty quickly. I preferred the old seating arrangement you had a...
