Just Wonderful! Sep 2024 It took us forty three years of marriage to arrive at the Manor Boutique Hotel which, although more than worth it, we wished that it had been sooner. Having said that, the new owners have only been in residence since March this year (2024) and so the experience may have been a little different. For us, we were treated handsomely to fine dining, quality accommodation, ambience and above all else, the warm hospitality of all who looked after us. There was our charming hostess, Mrs Rowlands, who we met, believing she was part of the housekeeping staff making up the rooms, only to find out that she was the owner - and I suggested she should have a pay rise! There was Charlotte, feisty and forthright, yet with a warm and kind sympathetic touch and a lovely sense of humour. Elsie, Nottingham bound, bright as a button and very articulate, ready to take on Business Management believing that men have had it too good for too long - she maybe right. The food was of top quality, simple yet carefully prepared and moreish. Portions were just right and the cost very reasonable. Wine was excellent with mark ups far less than most hotels of this type. All in all, a special couple of days with a special lady, my wife, and a very special team at the Manor. Try them - you will not be disappointed Written 6...
Read moreLovely 19th century manor house with amazing wood carving features including working fire places. We just went for dinner on a Wednesday and it was pretty quiet. The Manor recently changed ownership and they have a new chef (and new B&B rooms), so we were one of the result ones to try the full menu (not just tapas). There starters were average. The crab and salmon tain felt like a shame to mash those ingredients together and could have used a few more croutons. My partner thought her chicken liver pate could have had a bit more flavour. But the mains were both excellent. We had the lamb rump with an excellent minty lamb sausage bit. And the sea bass was very generous. The sauces for both were excellent, deep rich and glossy. No Gravox here, which makes this food a big step up from pub fare. The cheesplate was also generous for the price.
Price point in general was I think spot on for good food in a restaurant trying to reestablish itself.
Service was enthusiastic if a little rough around the edges (menu knowledge, and I could hear a lot of the kitchen talk), which I think will improve with time.
About 10 minutes drive out of Conwy with amazing views...
Read moreThe manor and its staff deserves the 5 stars. We booked this as we could see it was secluded and would be a great retreat to unwind. The views around were amazing. Clearly it was. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed and offered a drink. Relaxed in the bar and unwind. Had a sea view room, which overlooks the car park and then beyond. Room was very nice and clean. The service in and around the hotel including the restaurant was excellent. Food and drink, from evening meal to breakfast was fab. They were so accommodating and helped meet dietary requirements as my wife (besides chicken) is mainly a veggie. So to please her pallet can be difficult. Every dish was fabulous. They saved a table for us, even though we hadn't booked, since we were staying with them.
The restaurant was packed. We met people who own their lodges and static caravans in the park and then used the bar and restaurant.
We have been so pleased with this place that there's nothing we can say to fault them.
Happy to be...
