It has been a while since we were last at this establishment, and things have changed quite a lot. The place has lost its friendly warm welcome that the old guard always had, and the recognition of a old customer, returning. It has been replaced with a much younger set of staff. This in its self is not an issue, but, after being shown to your seat, and the only reply you get from the person showing you to your seat is "UH" no matter what you say to him in English, and he is quickly ushered away and someone who speaks English replaces him, is not the best start to an evening out meal. The menu is now a far, far smaller choice, which is really where my love of eating here really started to wane. I respect their religious beliefs, but when it puts a constraint on what I wish to eat, Pork or Beef, it makes me feel like I am being made to conform, to appease them so not to offend them with my choices. I respect they do not wish to handle Pork or Beef. So I hope they can respect that I and my friend will NOT be eating here ever again, I will take my custom else where, and I can feel like I am welcome. My female friend felt most un-easy, I understand that the muslim faith does not view the female gender quite in the same way that people in the UK do, but I don't wish her to be judged, by how my friend was dressed, and distained glances kept coming her way, because there was a cleavage in plain sight. The whole evening was more a case of "we are here now" Lets just eat, pay, and leave. At least I now know that either Spice UK in Welshpool, or Red Mago in Newtown offer a far more welcoming, pleasant ambiance, with a far less religious...
Read moreFriday 19 th July. Such a shame about the service! Booked an early table at 6.30pm, for two people. The waiter promptly delivered nibbles and then took our orders, but then we had to wait an hour and a quarter for main courses to be served. Despite reminding the waiter, our Naan bread was served 25 mins later, after we had finished our mains. Even a glass of tap water took 20 mins to arrive. Whilst we were waiting, a table of 8 and a table of 2 walked out! We were tempted to do likewise! Food is excellent, 5 stars, and always has been. The restaurant was spotlessly clean, staff smart and friendly. The management needs to urgently address the needs of restaurant customers, before giving priority to take away orders. Service in the restaurant was sadly totally...
Read moreSpent a weekend in the area and was recommended this place by the lady who we rented an airbnb from. Chatted to the friendly owner who told us he's had the place for 20+ years and was really helpful when it came to recommending us dishes.
The food was simply superb. I've had a lot of Indian food in my life, and have my London favourites, but this beat them all hands down. The quality of the food was fantastic, the chicken and lamb incredibly tender and...
