Nice experience. Friendly staff. Just let down by lack of jack daniels sauce refill as not prepared to pay £1.75 when all other sauces freely available no extra cost. Bit bizarre. Was a bit freaked out by screens along bar, thought it was a macdonalds impersonation to order your own food which I oppose as I value human interaction and can stay at home, order food on screen cheaper. Anyway, turns out screens are to advertise, bit OTT in my opinion having them all along the bar, think one bigger screen elsewhere would attract more advertising. Call me old fashioned but if I'm walking up to a bar I'm looking at the human about to serve me. Thinking about my food order or what drinks I'm ordering. Any screen under/at the side is a complete waste, dust hazzard/unwarranted but I guess Weatherspoons profits must be good to pay for them all, maybe that explains the expensive JD...

Been going to maesteg wetherspoon since it opened. I have had many a fantastic time there. However, an absolutely shambles this evening. Unfortunately came across a rude new staff member who clearly had no idea how to serve a basic gin which was advertised on the menu. When asking for a cucumber to accompany the gin and some ice I felt I was asking for a ruby😂. She reluctantly got me a cucumbers which was a slither of something??? and stated courtesy of the kitchen!!! What a favour I received. I know I’m not at the ritz but please serve what is advertised on your menu . Also food cold and inedible. I feel devastated that I have to write this post but to continue to treat us this way we will lose the Wetherspoons we...

You definitely get value for money here. Food was well cooked, and portion sizes were also reasonable. We went at lunch time and it was busy, but there was plenty of space to sit. Ordering online is... okay, though we couldn't see an obvious wifi connection attached to the venue and signal wasn't great. Also, when ordering extras, they aren't attached to a single dish. This meant when ordering 2 black puddings for one person, they came out on 2 people's plates. So whilst handy, it has its limitations. Not that it would put me off, but it's worth bearing in mind for complex orders or maybe large groups. Overall very satisfied, but not...
