This is a favourite of mine fantastic atmosphere, amazing food, and excellent beers, including M&B Mild, one of my favourites. I had eaten here before, but this time it was Sunday Lunch, 29th September 24. So, pint of Mild and if course Roast Beef lunch, home cooked food with the vegetables on the side of which was delicious, the gravey was so rich it was all so beautifully cooked. The pub is a little gem of a place to the right it's a traditional bar area where dogs are very welcome and to the left a lounge and dining area, which is lovely. Again, the beers and largers are responsibly priced they have steak night on Fridays, which I'd loved to have tried, but perhaps next time. You won't be disappointed visiting the little gem of a pub. The staff are very welcoming as is the owner she's very passionate about her pub and her Gins, very good selection too. Thank you to the staff once again....
Read moreWe found ourselves looking for Sunday lunch today. We'd been to the Golden Fleece over the road a number of times over the years, but never been to the Union.
We looked at the menu outside and it's on a par with most pubs in the area. It hasn't had a refurb for a number of years but front of house was spotlessly clean.
As well as the standard pub food menu they had a board with 2 courses for £11.95. I didn't really register the Starters, but the main was a choice of Roasts - Beef, Lamb or Chicken with stuffing. And desserts were Apple crumble or Strawberry Cheesecake. A limited selection but perfect for what we were after. The food was served promptly and was lovely. We will definitely go back.
It was almost empty in there today and deserves to be busier. Certainly worth a look especially if you're running late and wondering if you'll get a table at any of your...
Read moreFriendly Pub Great Food. We visited The Union tonight for dinner. I must say this is a great little pub. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We sat in the Lounge bar, it was clean and warm which was what we needed in Wales in October. They had a nice selection of beers. I can recommend the Rhubarb Cider. We ordered our food which was served very quickly we didn't have to wait very long at all. I had the Lamb shank one of their specials. It was served on a bed of mash swimming in gravy with a side bowl of seasonal Veg. The Lamb was Devine such a tasty meal. To finish up I had Syrup sponge pudding with lashings of custard it was the best. To sum up - A tasty meal served by friendly staff in a warm and comfortable pub oh and...
