We booked a table for 4 adults and 2 children for Sunday lunch on the 1st December 2024. We received a very warm welcome from bar staff as we walked in, the roaring fire place, with its christmas decorations adorning it, looked so cosy and we were invited straight to our table, even though we were a little early. The Sunday lunch was outstanding. Perfectly cooked Turkey, plenty of veg and loads of gravy. We like a lot of gravy on our roster dinners, and the plates came out with gravy already on the food and 3 large white ceramic jugs for us to share. We usually ask in other places for extra gravy - not here - its already given. The children received selection boxes which was a lovely, thoughtful touch. My neice, who is 8, can be a bit of a fussy eater. The lady who took our orders was very patient while my sister asked if it was possible for her to have certain veg and her plate came out as asked. My partner is vegetarian and he said his nut roast was gorgeous. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The hospitality was outstanding, the ambience of the room was spot on and very festive and as for value for money - you can't beat it. I would highly recommend a visit to...

Booked a lunchtime table to celebrate my parents 60th wedding anniversary. The table was booked based on the only restaurant menu that is available online. On arriving at the venue we were given a totally different and sub standard menu offering meals such as burger and chips or sausage and mash which are not fit for a celebratory lunch. On complaining we were told that the menu I had seen online was for evening only. Even tho the waiter confirmed to us that all the ingredients to make the food on the evening menu were available and there were only 2 other small tables eating at the restaurant they refused to try and accommodate our needs and refused to offer even a small selection off the menu. The waiters were both very aloof and uninterested in trying to help remedy the misunderstanding. If it wasn’t for the Diplomat Hotel coming up trumps and saving the situation at last minute my parents anniversary would have...

Best Roast in Llanelli?

It was certainly very tasty!

Last Sunday we headed over to @thewaunwyllt for their Roast. The venue is beautiful and the staff friendly and very helpful.

We had: 🦃 Roast Turkey Crown 🥩 Slow Cooked Silverside of Beef 🫛 A Portion of Vegetables 🧀 Cauliflower Cheese

The food was absolutley gorgeous with the meat on both plates falling apart, they were so tender. The vegetables were creamy and the roasties & parsnips seasoned to perfection.

I will say I felt the vegetable portion was quite small between the two of us, and the cauliflower cheese could be cheesier (but that’s our preference and didn’t take away from the fact that the food was so delicious!) Plus we didn’t opt for starters, which we saw were very generous, so worked out maybe the main isn’t as sumptuous!

Would definitely return here, and is beautiful for food...

Haven't been for years but a lovely place. Quite quiet, only 2 other tables in use when we arrived for 12.30. Drinks brought quickly. A bottle of red wine was £18.95, very reasonable. I had salmon, my father had Hunters chicken and my mother had beetroot falafel. We all enjoyed. For dessert my father and I had sticky toffee pudding and my mother had a Belgian waffle. The sponge melted in my mouth and there was a good amount of toffee sauce. My mother doesn't normally have dessert but she really enjoyed the waffle. The atmosphere was good with some jazz music playing in the background. We will be going again

A superb one night stay here. The traditional frontage belies a fantastic open plan bar and restaurant which has been carefully restored to combine the traditional stone pub with a top quality interior. Beautiful furniture, fittings and decor, lighting and background ambience. The annex room we stayed in was clean, modern and very well finished, high quality fittings and bathroom. We ate here twice and both dinner and breakfast were perfect and good value too. The large cooked breakfast will last you all day - huge and beautifully cooked.

Last night my Husband and I enjoyed a very romantic evening at the Waun Wyllt Inn. We opted for the Valentine’s Day 3 course menu and we were not disappointed. Braised beef Bon Bon and a Red pepper & mascarpone soup to start. Followed by a Chateaubriand sharing platter (how very romantic). This was followed by a sticky toffee pudding although we had to share one as we were so full (took the other home of course). Fantastic home cooked food, lovely wine, cosy atmosphere and very attentive staff. What a lovely evening and highly recommend.
