Restaurant peaceful, bright and welcoming as usual. Food exceptionally high-standard, as have come to expect, went with the cheddar and stilton pie on this occasion, and not disappointed either 👍🙏❤️ Too full for sweet, excellent and unique beer Mat conversation starters also, alongside Marstons own, provoking good and proper conversation, regarding the current state of Cymrus place in the UK at this time 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🙏👍x Well done White Bear for keeping stuff real and friendly xxx

Delicious pub grub! Appropriate portion size. I had a proper pie with shortcrust pastry and the hubby had a homemade chilli with half rice half chips. Kids meal, can’t really beat a nugget. Hot and cold drinks. Complimented by a pudding to match any sweet tooth.

Enjoyable meal and visit but I would hate to be there when they are seriously busy because wait time for ordering and food service is barely acceptable. This is the 3rd time we have eaten and always find them to have delays in service.

The White Bear is a proper "local", which shines through in a lovely way ☺️

The amosphere is really great and great music!

Carling is a nice pint and they have a nice selection of wines - albeit a bit over priced.

The staff are lovely, friendly and welcoming but a little slow on service and keeping an eye on the bar.

Food is very overpriced for what it is - Tikka Masala is £13.50. When I ordered, I asked if it was homemade and was told "I believe it is", which is why I ordered it. It isn't. It's a bought in sauce, the chicken was rubbery from re-heating, the microwave rice was clumpy and there was no mango chutney.

When we get a rare chance to get out and treat ourselves, we'd like a meal that is better than we can cook at home, which is what we were hoping for.

We didn't get that - given the prices, that's a shame.

The White Bear is a great place for beer, music & socialising but not so...

Attended to this pub with a friend who eats there regularly. Premises were clean and tidy.

The lady that served us was polite and pleasant.

The menu was varied and had a good selection of starters, main courses and sweets.

My friend and I both decided to have the Steak pie and chips. Ok it might be a fairly low brow meal, but it's surprising how many premises get it wrong. Suffice to say they didn't at the White Bear.

It arrived promptly, was piping hot, well presented and with generous portions.

The chips were tasty and the pie, which was served in a pie dish with a puff pastry top was delicious. We've probably all had steak that was a bit tough but the pieces within the pie were done just right and there were plenty of them.

The sweet dishes were also very well presented and again decent sized portions.

Premises does cater for groups and does take reservations.

Another premises that I...

We had a table booked for 6.30 Saturday 3rd August 24 for 4 people. We arrived on time to find a few people at the bar waiting to be attended to. After waiting for over 5 minutes it became apparent that the one and only bar staff on duty was working the side bar and the restaurant side. It also became to our notice it was his first night ever on duty. He had no idea we had a table booked and told a walk in just sit anywhere again he had no idea about booked tables about to arrive. He eventually got to speak to us and told us to just sit anywhere. We were not even asked about what we wanted to drink. After about 10 minutes sitting at our table with no service we decided to leave. Just to be clear we do not in any way blame this barman, we felt so sorry for him. The management team really let this member of staff and their customers down tonight and its very unlikely we...
