Afternoon tea at a beach side cafe. We took a stroll across the beach and decided to stop for coffee at the Wavecrest. The cafe has two entrances, one for takeaway and eat outside option, the other an sit inside option. We decided as the weather wasn't great to eat in, but there was plenty of outside tables to use, both at the front with Seaviews and to the rear of the cafe. Inside is very tastefully decorated, with easy reading special boards prices ranging from ÂŁ6.95 -ÂŁ7.50 with Mackerel Pate to posh prawn baguettes. There was also the very special local dressed crab for ÂŁ11.25. The usual menu had jackets, sandwiches baguettes etc with ham, cheese, tuna and coronation chicken to mention a few. Very reasonably priced. There were a lot of drinks to choose from with Elderflower Presse to ginger beer to speciality teas, but we chose the freshly ground Welsh Italian Coffee. Which was beautiful. We chose an apricot crumble and a key lime cheesecake as accompaniments which were both tasty and well presented. We were also jealous of the large toasted teacakes that our neighbouring table had served with small wrapped butter portions. The service was with a smile in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, where the staff are laughing and enjoying work. Well worth a visit, and on the beautiful doorstep of Angle Bay, what's...

Another splendiferous sumptuous lunch here for a super special occasion! Fathers Day! My Dad, he's now in his 80th year and struggles with his appetite. The Fathers Day ploughman's lunch was just the ticket! Lots of tasty treats on a platter. Followed by a sumptuous white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake! Heaven! Mam and I were treated to coeliac heaven on a platter - do many tasty bites and all gluten free. The cafe is family run and it shows - they remember you, your favorite dishes etc and go the extra mile in delivering a service and celebration of food you'll always remember for the right reasons. Am so grateful this place is on our doorstep but would happily travel to get here. Thank you once again for a meal in a...

Been here a few times now and food has always been great, usually have the jacket potato cheese and beans which is great, the last time I went I had the egg mayo and cress sandwich and it comes with coleslaw, crisps and cous cous which is absolutely beautiful! Forgot to take a picture but I also had the lime pie, the cakes are so tasty but you have to be quick they will sell out! 🍰

Staff are always very friendly here too and do a great job with providing great service and keeping the cafe clean.

If you’re having a day out at Angle beach I wouldn’t bother packing your sandwiches I’d recommend going here instead and have your dinner overlooking the beach, maybe even treat yourself to a glass of wine...

We found this cafe by accident while we were on our travels. We decided to grab a bite to eat. The inside seating area was full unfortunately but the staff were, friendly and helpful and suggested we could takeaway or eat on one of the many outdoor picnic benches. We decided to take away and sit on the beach ( we always have two camping chairs with us ) it was a beautiful day in June so we had a prawn baguette and a brie and bacon baguette. Both came with lovely unusual accompaniments and were super tasty. We paid just under ÂŁ17 for the two which was great for what you got. Check out this gem if you are in the area!!
