KFC Walsall Wood - Lichfield Road — Restaurant in Walsall

I don’t write this lightly! I’m sure people that have been in here previously may have experienced the the same?

I took my wife and 9 year old twins on for lunch on Sunday. We Walked in there ordered food from the auto ordering systems, had a question regarding the difference between 2 meals, so I walked up to the counter, where no one else was waiting, the 3 individuals working there who looked at me blank faced and couldn’t answer my simple question of “what was the difference between the two zinger meals”! I Should have walked out there and then. However my children were excited as it was their first KFC experience, and last!

I proceeded to ordered. There were only ourselves and 2 other people ordering and 3 young girls sitting in the corner chatting away without any food. 5 mins later our order was called out and we went to collect from our table.

As I sat down within our food a number of youths, I would say 10, aged between 10 and 16 walked in and started talking to the girls sitting down none of them eating or ordering food.

I stared to open our food, when I noticed a piece of my chicken, from my zinger box meal was raw! I took it out of my mouth and went up to the counter, the “manager” tried to tell me it was marinade, regardless of the fact it wasn’t and it was actually red around the bone. He said her would replace it if I liked….. I said yes please!

By this time these youths , mainly male, we’re smoking vapes in the eating area blowing smoke rings, and generally being a noisy nuisance. Again none of them were eating or ordering any food, they had absolutely no respect for their surroundings or the fact we were eating with my family in a, supposed, family environment.

The, re-made, chicken wings were brought over to me this time, I checked 1 and though “great, they’ve sorted it now, then I went to eat the other, larger peice, yet again raw chicken! I spat it out!

The youths were getting Louder and moving around the floor space more and, at least 6 of them were blowing their vape smoke all around the restaurant just a few feet from our table. I really wanted to tell them about themselves but decided against it as they wouldn’t give a damn as they clearly had no self respect and certainly no respect for anyone else. Also I didn’t want to have my children see any confrontation.

I said to one of the employees, “it’s more like a youth club in here than a family restaurant” she said yeah we’ve called the police and they’ve done nothing, I asked to see the manager, she walked off and stood in the corner, no sure what she was doing, after a few more minutes I left taking my family with me and will not be returning again’.

A shocking experience for my young twins to see how people behave these days. Even more disappointing that their behaviour was deemed acceptable and no doubt a regular occurrence at this establishment regardless of, apparent, Police or staff interjecting and to top it all off they’ve served me raw chicken twice.

Abysmal atmosphere, abysmal standard of food quality control and abysmal customer service.

What a waste of nearly £40. I will never go again, and I know know why the place was empty!!! I eagerly wait KFCs response, no doubt I’ll...

Food good, excellent service, shame the last call wild life can't behave, me and my son were sitting in the restaurant finishing our meal when a bunch of teens came in must have been six of them and someone started to push the seat they were on back into me and push me against the table, eventually I turned and asked what the problem was the mouthy lout behind me said it wasn't him but the girls opposite there was lots of snug going on in the end we left , the young girl behind the counter couldn't have done anything there were to many, as afifty year old woman who is out with her son who has recently been through a lot of brain surgery via three femeral angiogrammes after being beaten up on the bus for his phone, he may be in his twenties but has no confidence , we went out for a late lunch as I had managed to get him to get out of the car and go inside for a meal, this was about 17:45 pm today , i felt intimidated and so did he and you most definatly need security on the door, the yobs were then running around up and down by the drive through section where you give your order, they will cause an accident and lord help the poor driver they dash around by.

We won't be going again I am fifty years old I don't want thugs and idiots about while I'm trying to spend time with my son and boost his confidence, these idiots are giving your restaurant amunition for bad reviews ,very sorry to say so...

I know you can only use the drive through at the moment to collect in person. I have used Uber Eats. It does cost a little bit more for delivery. But they are good. Never got my order wrong. My only disappointment is that they are not serving ice cream. I assume that is due to the lockdown and Covid-19. Still tasty. 👍👍😊

As of 1 March 2021, you can now go into the restaurant to collect food. I don't know if you can order food in the restaurant, but you can using the KFC app, and I think this may include click and collect (using the drive thru). If you want to, you can also use Uber Eats app to order online, and then collect your meal from the restaurant. Don't think Just Eats will let you, I have not found this KFC restaurant on there when I have looked. Looks like they have now put ice cream Sundaes on the menu, but I think it is only Chocolate Sundaes. It is probably worth checking this before you order. If you order online, and pick up from the restaurant, you avoid delivery or service charges.
