The King Arthur Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Walsall

I was deeply disappointed with the way we were treated by the manager. We are regulars and this will be the last time we will be coming here. We booked a table a couple of weeks before for a engagement celebration with my family coming down and when we got there we were told that they didn't have room and we're placed in the bar with a make shift table in the way of the pool table. When we asked the manager that we wanted to move he kicked up a fuss and was very aggressive and irrate and said "We are busy". Normally we could have let it pass but we were looking forward to having a nice meal out and then this happened. Didn't have time to book anywhere else so we agreed to stay but after the experience we felt let down and couldn't enjoy our meal. Before we left I just wanted to tell the manager thinking that he would at least say sorry but he said "we should have specified an area to be seated". We have NEVER had to do this at this venue, plus the fact we have booked a table before and weren't told this was the way we had to book. Unfortunately I don't recommend this place, I am writing this 5 minutes after trying to eat what I have ordered.

Delivery was fast but it was delivered by Uber.

Portion size was generous.

Quality of food and taste was absolutely disappointing, being a huge fan of pub food this was a really bad experience.

Chips - Soft and almost cold

Butter Chicken - Meat was cooked ok however the sauce didn't taste anything like any other butter chicken I ever tried, one could say it was sour and savoury, not to mention it was almost cold same sa the chips.

Large mix grill - Big portion as expected however the whole lot tasted like it was grilled the day before and microwaved for delivery, it almost had a taste of frozen food .

Visited here today, party of 9. Welcomed by staff, very warm and welcoming. Informed of when meals would arrive. The food was absolutely amazing. 6 of us ordered medium mixed grills which came to the table sizzling n smelling Devine's. Curries were also beautiful, along with the masala chips and chilli chips. All of the food was presented as expected. Some of us couldnt manage to eat all of our food but the staff were quite happy to provide packaging so it could be taken home.
