I dont usually do this sort of thing i.e write reviews but feel i had too!!!

On a country drive to see parents we decided to have some Sunday lunch with the kids. We came across The Plough and thought we'd go in and 'have a look' and a quick drink. On arrival i was immediately greeted with friendly bar-staff and to my delight they served Asahi lager which is one of my favourites, also San Miguel with comes a close second...ANYWAY... kids had couple of cokes and the misses had a very nice white wine. The decor inside is beautiful, proper homely, warm Pub/Restaurant atmosphere too. I believe its been done up quite considerably...never been in before so wouldnt know, but its decor & furnishings etc are top spec. Went out to the HUGE garden... where the kids ran riot, played on climbing frames etc and were completely safe. We spotted somebody leaving on the decking so grabbed their table up there, There are copious amounts of tables outside but we liked the look of the decking. Its real stunning, with black wicker furniture with huge umbrellas...absolutely lovely. SO...we ordered our roasts... 2 adults 2 kids.... and the food is to die for. Fresh, tasty, just brilliant. Ordered another pint and met one of the owners who introduced me to himself, forget his name now, think it was Greg, and he informed me that a singer was going to be outside a bit later on the bandstand. Asked the kids if they wanted to stay and they screamed yes and off they went again. Singer was fantastic, thouroughly enjoyed it....enjoyed the whole day and without doubt will be doing it all again. Great day had.... would...

For the very first time we didn't enjoy our visit to the plough on Saturday night 28th April. I called the Plough in March to book a table for 4. We have always sat at front of pub. On arrival we found we had a table in the family room which was very busy with 2 or 3 birthday party's. So very noisy where we couldn't hear ourselves speaking so asked to be moved. We were moved to the area where the back door is. We found we were forgotten and had to ask for service each time to order drinks or our meals. On ordering our food we were told the pie of the day was beef , so to our surprise the waitress told us on bring the men's food our pie now was chicken and bacon? How come when the waitress put in the order the chief or cook they didn't tell her and we could have chosen another meal? After waiting more than 45 minutes we accepted the pie for the ladies. Found the pie very dry and pastry looked as if it had been warmed up in the microwave. Vegetables were Luke warm. Again had to try see a waitress to order drinks, after main meal we were asked if we wanted pudding only one chose this but waited ages again, in the end we asked for our bill. We have come to this pub many times over the years and recommend to family & friends finding the service and food...

We visited The Plough on Friday night for the first time in about 3 years. Wow were we surprised. We had heard good things since the new owners had taken over and we were not disappointed. The pub itself has been refurbished from top to bottom and quite simply looks stunning. A great mixture of old country style pub dĂŠcor and feel mixed with some nice modern and quirky touches. The staff were superb with excellent service and a warm welcome accompanied with the personal touch. The new kids play area is great and our little one was entertained for ages pretending to be a pirate in the ship. Now I get to the food which put simply was 5 star quisine. The presentation and explosion of taste in our mouths definitely means we will be regulars at this establishment for a long time to come. So much so that we booked for fathers day and were lucky to get in on the second sitting. The roast dinners were just how a good roast should be and after we retired to the garden where we enjoyed live music by a stunning lady called Chloe Paige. If you like eating out, going for a few drinks or just going out as a family I strongly recommend you put The Plough on your speed dial as I do not think it will be long before you will have to book to get a table. 5 STAR PUB...

Arrived for 12 lunch. Building was cold. No fires lit. No menus printed. Lunch was delicious though. I had the herb crusted lamb it was really delicious. Tiny portion of vegetables for two of us. They were nice but needed a few more. Pleased we ordered a side of cauliflower cheese to have. A jug of gravy would have been nice to have. Staff friendly, though the look of legging and trainers for waitressing staff, is a look I don't like, looks scruffy. Disappointed at the uncleaned and general maintenance of the toilet. No bin provided, sanitary products on floor, toilet seat hanging off. One toilet was out of order. The room we were in lacked any appeal, cold and the seats were uncomfortable. When we left the bar fire had been lit which made the bar look so cosy and warm. Overall wrap up warm and go for the food and not the decor.

Needed somewhere to grab some lunch after a trip to Eastbourne. Found the Plough after searching on google maps and it did not disappoint. Typical country village Feb with reasonably extensive Menu. Wasn’t busy at 2.45 on a Friday afternoon to service was quick,,personal and all three of us were very happy with our choice and quality of food. Give it a visit, well worth it !

Bang average food at a bang average price served in a beautiful old building. It is a brewery (Shepherd Neame) pub selling food that’s cooked from frozen… Had a prawn cocktail, fish and chips and ham, eggs and chips and nothing was remarkable but it was all edible and filled hungry stomachs. The wine recommendation was great and the staff are lovely though.
