First time stopping here on our many trips to Cornwall. Would probably stop here again if we needed to. We stopped in on Easter Saturday, around 10.30am. Car park is small, but we managed to find a space. We popped to the loos - cubicles are a little on the small side, and there was a sign up saying that they were being refurbished, but we didn't need to queue. We then ordered drinks and 2 bacon and cheese croissants. I was able to add my own (oat) milk to my tea. Drinks arrived without lids, so that you can add sugar etc easily at the bench opposite the order bar. There were lots of people with dogs on and around the building, so they are dog-friendly, but there weren't many "dog bins" in the car park, so be aware if you get your dog out to stretch their legs. The one downside is the layout inside - plenty of seating, but it felt a bit chaotic when we were waiting for our order. There is a waiting area, but there was a family sat eating there, so we had to stand "in the way" of people going into the loos. I think they have done the best with the available space, and at a quieter time of day there probably wouldn't have...

On this visit we accidentally left our son's hoodie behind, and when I rang up 250 miles later (mostly just to confirm where it was so I didn't go insane looking for it) they offered to post it up to us! Definitely going above and beyond.
The only thing to watch out for is the parking area (which is probably another company anyway). Most service stations give you 2 hours by default, this one is 90 mins. Combined with the lovely atmosphere, good food, and play area, I've been caught out and received a fine twice now. I think you can extend your stay for no charge in the Hog & Hedge if you're buying something, but you have to remember and actually do...
Read moreWe wanted to stop somewhere nice for lunch rather than a standard service station. This place looked great - so we planned our route to coincide.
The place is OK.
On arrival there was a queue to enter the tiny car park and the spaces are tiny. If you have an SUV or newer car you may want to think twice about parking here. If you have a caravan or motorhome forget it.
Once inside there are touch screens to order your drinks and food - which is a good system and there are plenty of seats inside.
The service was fairly fast. Overall we thought this was going to be a 'farm shop' style rest stop - it's not - it's just a glorified coffee shop.
TIP: There is space to park opposite the payroll station round the corner. They...
