Master McGraths — Restaurant in West Lancashire

My partner and I dined here on boxing day mainly because I only live about half a mile away and we don't spend Christmas together so boxing day is like our Christmas day. We have visited a few other venues locally over the 3+ years I've been here and most of them have been okay. Why we have not tried here before is something we now regret! From start to finish the experience was outstanding! The staff were polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble, especially considering I'm a miserable, shorts wearing, scruffy ex squaddie! And then the food arrived... I'm a massive foodie and quite critical but like most folk I've not tried everything I want to try. I'd never had pheasant so opted for the saute of venison with pheasant breast and mash, my partner went for the mushroom stroganoff with a side of crystal bread. Very rarely do we not chat whist dining but yesterday hardly a word was spoken by either of us! The presentation was lovely, the portion size was perfect and the food itself was absolutely divine! Never have I not added salt and pepper to meal until yesterday. I really can't put into words how much I/we enjoyed the experience! The chef even took the time to come to our table so I could thank him personally and what a smashing bloke he was too! I'd told a few guys where I work that we were going and they asked me to let them know what it was like and I most certainly will! Both meals, plus deserts, a pint of lager shandy, pint of inchs cider and glass of really nice port... all for 60 quid! Before we'd even paid the bill we had decided that this will definitely be a regular place to dine from now on. I enjoyed a really good time with a very special friend inside Master McGraths this evening, all of the staff were very friendly and served us very efficiently and with a genuine smile on their faces ( Social distancing permitting ) The food we ordered and ate was very delicious and flavoursome, with just the right portion sizes, the vegetables were all fresh and locally sourced, my friend was delighted when she was told that they even stocked Chinzano Bianco, one of her favourite drinks, so this was such a bonus for her that topped her dining experience with me. I was pleasantly surprised with total cost of our meals, beverages and alcoholic drinks at the end of our evening, so it was very much Compliments to the chef and kitchen staff for serving up delicious and hot food without any undue delay, likewise to all other members of the staff for their very warm, friendly and professional service, and I must close by saying that the overall ambience of Master McGraths was excellent, and I can also confirm that both my friend and myself found that both the ladies and the gents were extremely clean and hygienic throughout. As for me and my friend, we will definitely be coming to visit Master McGraths again in the very near future and, highly recommend anyone to go and try for themselves an excellent dining and drinking experience at a very competitive cost when you''re next...

Outstanding every time. I am so particular with food and am very difficult to please, I'm am that person who complains at littrualy everything. But credit where credit is due this is the best restaurant in the area, truly the food is of exceptional quality and the care and attention given to creating the menu comes out in the delivery. The only negative I have (and I just can't help myself but give one) the service can be a little all over the place and at times chaotic. There is a clear divide between the well trained efficient staff and the ones that don't have the same level of natural service ability. But I think that is something that is negligible in the grand scheme of things. I just feel if they resolved this issue it would be of huge benefit long term and be the cherry on the top of what is the closest thing to a perfect dining experience I have seen in...
