I believe this may have been my first visit to a Beefeater establishment, but not entirely sure. That statement is already very telling as it has not left a memorable impression on the brain matter. I frequent several Premier Inns and many are attached to the same franchise. I was in just before 8pm in the middle of the week so it was not very busy. Guided to my table swiftly and an order was placed for a ribeye steak, medium rare. Delivery was relatively quick and the food was hot. Great start. The ribeye steak was as thick as the fries, not a great cut but great flavour. Kudos to the chef for trying to make this thin-cut ribeye steak medium rare. The chimichurri sauce was a great option and the herby, zesty fragrance worked well with the steak. Now the skin on fries retained enough oil to service a Landrover, they were crispy but not much else was going for them. I was looking forward to the pudding treat. Ordered the Mango & passion fruit sundae as the menu picture looked stunning (see for yourself). Noticed the difference yet! The picture in the menu has a full glass with cream on top whilst the presented offering was half a glass full of whipped cream. Halfway down the depth I finally met my pudding and it was fabulous. I think I got the ยฃ5 version and not the ยฃ6-99 option as advertised. I real pity as it did taste great but there wasn't much of it! Value for money 3/5 stars. Will I remember the experience - probably not! Will I seek out the establishment for a meal again? Only if staying at the same hotel group and as a matter of convenience.

So I have stayed at the premiere Inn next door for once a fortnight for the last three months, I keep coming to this hotel instead of the premiere Inn central in Southport because the Morris dancer's beefeater is AMAZING ๐Ÿ˜ breakfasts are superb as are the dinners it is simply great service and amazing food. Since my job takes me all over the country and stay away most most months I can say one of the best restaurants I've been in this year if not one of the best beefeaters ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ and a special thanks to Pam. (Still can't find my first review about the amazing breakfast) Quite simply fab food great service ๐Ÿ˜Š Read less

The original pub underwent a major refurbishment and was annexed to a new-build Premier Inn in 2006. It is now the breakfast venue for the hotelโ€™s residents but remains a standalone pub-restaurant for nonresidents also. In the evening the area adjacent to the bar is quite homely, whereas the larger area is a little sterile. The menu is predominantly grilled meats although there are lighter options. Although not fine dining the food is good and prices are reasonable. The staff, however, are excellent; really friendly, helpful and efficient.

Not a great experience, came here for an evening meal, we were showed to our table and menus were given to us, we waited for about 10 minutes until our drinks order was taken, we gave our food order, starters - garlic bread, calamari, mains - surf n turf and t bone steak, i asked for my t bone blue, and the surf n turf medium rare, The starters arrived the garlic bread was nice but the calamari was overdone and dripping in oil totally unedible, I spoke to the manager and she swapped it for us, however the second attempt was just as bad, the oil was old which made the calamari taste almost burnt/bitter and was very dark in colour Our mains arrived the surf n turf was fatty and full of gristle and most of it was left as my wife could not eat it. My T Bone was not blue but more medium in the middle and medium well around the outside, i ate it only due to the fact I couldn't be bothered waiting another 30 minutes for another to be cooked as it was getting busy with other diners, the waiter even agreed that the surf n turf steak was horrible and fatty, he did offer us another round of drinks or a dessert but as we were in the car and time had caught up with us we had to decline, we were charged for both our meals, luckily it was on the 50%off offer but even so the meal came to almost ยฃ50.00 not a great experience, there are other restaurants in the area so, sorry Morris dancers but you have to...

Not a great experience to be honest, as a frequent customer and as the table was booked well in advance of valentines night I expected a much better effort from beefeater as a company. To start the evening on arrival we were shown to a table at the front of the restaurant that had no ambiance at all it was at the front and had no atmosphere it was like a cafe, this was booked with valentines in mind and it just didn't feel like you had made any effort to make it feel that way.i requested a different table to which I was told was not possible, the manageress on seeing my disappointment moved us into another area of the restaurant which was nicer but not a balloon or candle in sight. I ordered beef crisps which are normally crispy these were soggy, I didn't complain as I didn't want to feel that I was a moaner after the table incident, I ordered a beefburger and fries the fries were lukewarm I did complain and they were reordered but I had a burger with no fries? Finally I ordered another double Bacardi only to be told you only had a single left which I refused and was a little bemused, my bill was ยฃ42 plus tip but I could have got a better meal in a McDonald's and paid a portion of what paid tonight, as a regular customer I have to question myself as whether I go back to this particular beefeater again, sorry for the rant but I just feel a this special...
