Popped in for Sunday lunch 12.20 Plenty of tables available, car park ok but few pot holes, Staff very nice, good service Food- chicken ok, mash and potatoes not great seemed to be not fresh, maybe yesterday's, not fluffy and tasteless and colour was not right Prices drinks ok ish Veggie option pie was very poor, lacks imagination and flavour Prices for food slightly to high for what it was Overall food 3 Sorry could have been so much better, much better

What a place. This pub has a special place in my heart, all of the waiters are top tier and I could not say a bad word about them. The blonde one with a perm (I think his name was Alfie) was lovely and he also managed to communicate with my wife and serve her food in Russian! (She is from Moscow). Also Siel was great too, she poured a good pint and was really friendly. Could not recommend a pub more 👍🏾

Lots of parking is available, outdoor seating and children's play areas. Inside is nice with an old world feel, toilets immaculate. Service was very pleasant and polite but food took 45 minutes to arrive. Advised that all the tomatoes had been used so not available as described on menu. Steaks about £18-22, sides about £4. All of us enjoyed the food. Rump steak shown, no tomato, no side.

I visited the Hesketh Arms pub in Rufford. It is on the A59 in Rufford on the section of the A59 between Tarleton and Burscough. It is on a corner of the A59 as you drive through Rufford. Access and exit from the pub car park is good. There are ample car parking spaces at the pub car park. The Hesketh Arms pub in Rufford does lunches between 12 noon and 2:30pm and evening meals between 5pm and 9pm Monday to Friday. It is a good sized pub inside with plenty of seating. There is also seating outside of the pub. The Hesketh Arms pub in Rufford is a nice pub inside with a sort of country/agricultural feel to it. I would recommend a visit to the Hesketh Arms pub in Rufford. Update Tuesday 15th August 2023: I visited the Hesketh Arms pub in Rufford today Tuesday 15th August 2023 and it was a most enjoyable experience. The Hesketh Arms pub in Rufford is easy to locate. It is situated on the A59 between Tarleton and Burscough. It has a good sized car park in Rufford with ample car parking spaces. There are picnic benches and tables on the grassy area behind the pub. The Hesketh Arms pub in Rufford has a sort of agricultural rural feel to it which is in keeping with the character of Rufford and the surrounding area which is in the main agricultural and farming. I would recommend a visit to the Hesketh Arms pub in Rufford. Update Monday 22nd April 2024: I visited The Hesketh Arms pub in Rufford and it was a most enjoyable experience. The pub is on the A59 in Rufford. It has a good sized car park which is free. I went into the pub to have a look in and it is very nice inside. There were plenty of restaurant tables set up for lunch. It is clean inside and the toilet facilities at the pub are also clean and hygienic. There is a good sized bar in the pub as well. It is a big pub with plenty of seating. I would recommend a visit to The Hesketh Arms...

Dreadful Christmas experience - We often eat at the Hesketh Arms, so we booked our works Christmas lunch here, expecting a happy festive dining experience. - Sadly that's not what we got. Our table was in an area with very little festive cheer or xmas decorations- 2 cones and a polar bear just don't cut it. We had booked the festive menu, but no xmas crackers or anything remotely festive on the table. The music was primarily country, rock & roll with the occasional Christmas song - so again a very poor festive effort. The staff were unable to change any of the music Now the meal, firstly, the staff and service were great, but the festive menu left a lot to be desired. The starters were generally ok. The mains that let everything down was the Turkey dinner - very sad & lacklustre and the 'roast potatoes were the worst. one person said - yesterdays spuds heated up - another said frozen and I felt they were deep fried to get them warm. overall the main turkey dinner was not good I certainly wouldn't order it again. The desserts were also an issue -some good some not so good. the strudel was such a pathetic size I thought it was a joke at first. cheesecake & sponge were ok the choc pot was weird the cherries were NOT sour as meant and when the customer has to prize the chocolate fudge apart which is on top of a soft caramel sauce base it was messy

I was so underwhelmed and disappointed with our experience today especially during a 'festive event' I may well pop in for fish & chips in the future but I don't believe I will book a table for anything significant in the future.

the senior management need to improve what they offer to the customer. the staff on duty would appear to have little or no control to improve things. I certainly wouldn't recommend anything.

I don't spend my time taking photos of my...

We visit often. This visit we brought friends as we are always telling them how great the Hesketh food, service and ambiance is!!! Tempting providence??? Yes it was. Arriving the Hesketh was dark, very cold and was so uninviting. Totally DRAB. We really enjoy our visits to the Hesketh. Food and service always excellent. A very cold day and no fire lit???!!! Come on it’s Winter. Food was not good. 2- fish pies arrived. Both ladies requested spoons and renamed their meals Fish soup. Laura who is always very helpful and bright and cheerful agreed they were not correctly prepared by whoever made them. Our fudge deserts arrived in small glass jars with desert forks to eat the fudge, good idea but no use to eat this fudge with, hard and just shattered into pieces when you did get the fork into a piece. Then on eating it was so overly sweet and shattered into what I can only describe as what a sugar lump would do when chewed. Thousands of sugary grains. Fudge doesn’t do this!!!

A total disaster of a visit. We could see the menu had some changes but even selecting standard items like Haddock Goujons the tartare sauce was wonderful and a vibrant colour on past visits. This Tartare sauce was awful.

The Hesketh is a Seafood pub company venue, Wednesday was far from being the standard of a Seafood pub company venue. But Laura was very apologetic, came up with good answers with our comments. She shouldn’t have to. She’s great and perfect at front of house. She needs better back up from the kitchen!!!

You did ask for a review!!! Not the enjoyable visit we have always experienced and sadly you’ve lost 2 new customers who are good spenders and eat out every week. You’ve probably lost us as well because in hindsight the price for what we did eat was...
