Lincolnshire Otter — Restaurant in West Lindsey

We had a table booked for 4.30pm for a family of 7. When we arrived the cutlery had been thrown on the table carelessly and the table was dirty. I tried to get a high chair for my 8 month old but they were all absolutely filthy. I tried to wipe it down the best I could and the wipe was black with dirt so I decided to keep my daughter on my knee instead. Just as our meals arrived my 8 month old grabbed hold of a glass of drink and pulled it over. I was moving her out of the way of the hot food that gas been put right in arms reach of her and instead she grabbed a glass. This meant there was almost a full pint of bitter all over our table. We tried to clean this up with our napkins but of course didn’t have enough. Despite this happening in front of a server, not a single staff member came to help us. We asked for a cloth to clean the table and was given a dish towel. The table was of course still sticky so my mother in law went to find a staff member to ask for a cloth. The staff member returned with a few napkins. My mother in law told him that she needed a cloth and some spray because the table was stick from the beer. The server was incredibly rude and responded with “I’ll go get some. You’re not allowed to just walk in the kitchen like that by the way”. This is of course true but there wasn’t a staff member to be found and our meals were going cold so we had little choice but to do this to find someone. Another staff member came over with the spray and my mother in law apologised for going to the kitchen but stated that there were no staff members to be found. The young girl responded with “yeah there’s only two staff members working, that’s managements fault”. Several of us had a turkey roast which was pretty terrible. The meat was dry and certainly not breast as stated and the roast potatoes were over cooked, as was the Yorkshire pudding which just crunched to bits. I had the lasagne and I can whole heartedly say I have had better microwave lasagne from Tesco. After we had finished we had to put our plates on another table as nobody came to clear them away and we wanted to order puddings. Several of us had chocolate fudge cake with ice cream and I had custard with mine. The custard I was given was no more than a tablespoon and did not even cover the surface of my cake. The ice cream scoops were also tiny and not a good ratio to cake at all. The server that had snapped at my mother in law about going to the kitchen was dressed in a black Nike jumper and a pair of blue jeans. If looking for a staff member you would assume he was a customer rather than a server. His work attire was as unprofessional as his customer service. Not a single one of us could rate our meals any higher than a 5 and the disgusting service or more lack of made it a really awful experience. We have had a bad experience here in the past and this was our first time returning since. We decided to give the place the benefit of the doubt and make use of the 30% off mains deal currently running. Needless to say not a single one of us will be returning in the future. With the price of a single roast dinner I could have made a much better roast at home and fed us all. I am deeply dissatisfied with all aspects of the visit. Please have a look at this establishment and get some better staff or at least give them a lesson in customer service because I have worked in the industry for 8 years and would be deeply ashamed of myself if I provided service that poor. Awfully Walked in no immediate tables due to the quiz on . Was the choice of 4 tables that wasn't reserves . 3 I couldn't use as they were bar stools ( so not a disabled friendly welcome to start with) Attempted to use the order app - pointless . Went to the bar orderd the food . Told them twice how I wanted the steak . I orderd fries ( got chips ) . Sat at table waiting . Went to open the sauce bottle as the safety seal was still on it eventually came off whilst covering me in sauce now staining my tshirt wich has had to go in the bin!! . Food arrived as were sat in the child's area because nowhere else to sit ! . Onion rings cold Steak chewy I actually thought what I don't eat il save for the dog when I orderd it . Well not a chance would he be having any I left it all on the plate absolutely disgusting . Partners pizza ... well it arrived most mushroom pizza the mushroom are sliced... nope not here so you get full size mushrooms just stood to attention on the pizza like they are waiting for a drill Sargent to arrive . The pizza iv had thin pizza base , but jesus it wasn't even the thickness of a bit of paper . As we went to leave a couple arrived and said ohh we've come to try it after the last manager upset us . The girl on the bar said its a new manager .... as I left I told the couple don't waste ypur time look behind you you will see our plates . Worst food we have ever had . When leaving .. no thankyou goodbye from staff like they're used to be . Walling to my car I see a kitchen person stood in his kitchen uniform at the bin shed !!! Vaping and with a tea towel slung over his shoulder ! ... I'm sure environmental health would love that !!!!! Didn't asl for a refund as was never asked how it was and we thiight they clearly need the money as the staff need some training. Went in for a family meal 4 adults and 1 child we got told it was a 30-40 min wait so we said no bother that's fine, fast forward an hour later we still had no food and got told there was no pizza that I had ordered so had to choose something else.. When asked about our food we was told another 10 minutes and it should be out, we asked for my 2 year old sons food who had been so good at waiting for his food and they did bring it out it was piping hot his food. Could have made easier to distract him if you had more than just books in the kids corner. we then waited to get our food. We had one fish and chips and peas was cold, my partners ordered the mixed grill but got told they had ran out so she picked the sirloin steak to be medium, well it was well done, tomato wasn't grilled, peas were raw, the other lts 2 meals were hot but wouldn't say it was worth the money for the food. We had pudding which were nice and hot. We spend 2 hours and a half hours just having food when usually it would be an hour maybe 90 mins max. The staff was really nice and did apologise it wasn't their fault they looked rushed off their feet, one of the lasses had left half way through with her dog, blond hair wearing a suit and just left them in the lerch with a back log of orders also had 3 kida running around the whole of the restaurant and this women said nothing to the parents or them. well done to the ladies sorry didn't get name, one had black hair with a black dress on was on the bar and the other was hair up blone-brown hair, skirt on you deserved a medal. One couple near us ordered mains and left them on the table untouched, the women working so busy they didn't have time to clear plated, think management need to get some staff and help these ladies out more.
