Date of visit: 06-Oct 22 around 13:30, Order: Ultimate Breakfast. Ordering was simple using the self-service screen, and there was plenty of choice of seating. The staff overall were friendly and helpful. When the meal arrived they had missed out a sausage, however this was promptly rectified when I queried this to a member of staff. Other than that they did correctly serve my customised order (with no mushroom or tomato). The plate presentation was good. Pricing was reasonable, with the "ultimate breakfast" costing 7.99 with an additional 1.29 for a pot of tea.
Unfortunately though the food was not all that great. The bacon was overcooked and both very chewy & crunchy somehow? (But they did give 3 rashers not 2 🤫). The fried bread was very oily and felt like an explosion of grease in the mouth when eating - I couldn't finish it. The hash browns were slightly undercooked on the inside but acceptable. The black pudding was cooked well and very nice, if not just on the small side for me. The sausages and beans were acceptable while the fried egg was close to perfect.
Overall a mediocre experience, it filled a gap let's say. I've had much worse but much better. Wouldn't recommend a trip specifcally to come here, but is ideal for a pre/post-shopping...
Read more2nd time we have had a really naff meal here, every place has their "off" days but Morrisons Cafe Kitchen staff really need to start doing better. Ordered fish and chips with mushy peas, bread and butter. Not many in, waited 25 minutes before we saw ANY food coming out. Could hear kitchen staff talking plenty though. Extra 5 mins later (30 in total) we got our food. Bread was totally stale so asked for more. Fish was ok and hot but chips were luke warm and mushy peas had a dry crust on them...bet they served everything up/got it ready and put it under heat lamp whilst waiting for fish. No need as like I said it wasn't busy. Wish we had paid a couple of quid more and got a decent meal...lesson learnt...well...
Read moreFlies everywhere. It was like this 2 months ago when I last visited and the same today. They are swarming around the coffee machines. These are not fruit flies, they are black house flies. I am not talking one or two here, the problem is plain to see. They eat decomposing matter so I can hardly believe that after some months of infestation the cafe manager has not concluded that something is badly wrong in, under or around the machines. They are landing in food on the tables and also seem to be loving the exposed cream cakes on display in the cafe too. I managed half of my breakfast before i began to feel sufficiently queasy and...
