Shown room by staff as soon as we turned up which was via an external door via external iron fire escape which was barely lit , room wasn't particularly well presented and the room had some weird smell like cat Pee, we were exhausted from our day and it was only for one night so we just shrugged it off, decor very dated, only one cup in room alongside the kettle a couple of tea bags and packet milk barely enough for one. We got back downstairs into the pub and had a meal consisting of cod & chips and hunters Chicken, frankly it was absolutely awful, the Cod in batter when cutting into it disintegrated into crispy mush like it had been severely over cooked or it had been living in the freezer passed its sell by date by time of cooking it. The hunters Chicken was like an old boot, some of the home made chips were green and not cooked enough. We passed on dessert. This was breakfast included with our room....I said to my partner maybe we ought to pass on breakfast and just make our way home pickup something on our route but partner disagreed said we had paid for it ( we had too) breakfast was again disappointing, full English, sausage, half tomato, two good slices of bacon which was very salty, poached egg two slices of toast, stupid butter in a foil wrap, hate that and triangle of err I think fried bread ? No mushrooms as per spec...black pudding, it was o.k but the bacon ruined it, sausage was nice. Had a shower which was lovely and hot but unfortunately the plug hole was compromised and nearly broached the tray. Disappointing to...

We have stayed at the Bell several times over the last 3 years, while visiting our son. We stayed 2 weekends 10/12 and 19/21 April. It as seriously gone down hill. Carpets dirty, no loo roll, mould in the bathroom being covered by the loo brush, waste bin and a scrunched up shower mat, mould on the ceiling. No teaspoons, glasses or bottled water which was previously provided. Roller blinds cut down and fraying, which made them difficult to use. Scaffolding over the roof which was erected in January due to leaking roof. Nothing started so you are walking around scaffolding and rubbish bins to get to a metal fire escape going to the bedrooms. The ground covered in rubbish, cigarette ends and old chairs. The breakfast room is awful, dirty floors which look as though they need power washing. The first morning we came for breafast, there was no milk, sugar, butter, teaspoons, one cup/saucer. John the chef who was working on the other days we stayed, was very efficient, helpful and couldnt do enough. We...

Sadly room for a lot of improvement here. Staff were nice and friendly though but my review is on the whole experience. No parking area very inconvenient for disabled and elderly people. No garden area or grass just tarmac with a few plants. Says pet friendly on the website, couldn't provide a bowl of water for the dog except for a leaking bucket. Food was tasty but when you ask for rare you do expect rare, grilling the halloumi cheese also needs a bit more practice to bring out the flavour. Service could be improved a bit, was sort of a one man show which got stretched a bit thinly between the guests at the restaurant. Hope this is taken as positive criticism as these are all things that can be...

Located in a pretty cotswold village, well worth the visit. Parking maybe an issue during busy times of year but all in all a great place to stop for a beer & food. Outside tables & benches in the sun in the courtyard was were I had a great pint of Moorlands bitter... enough said. Partially thatched roof pub with great character built with the local cotswold stone. Rustic is what I would say. Senior citizens get food specials too. Great little restaurant at the back of building blink you may miss it's there...see photos. Even has an old well inside the bar. The staff & owners are really helpful if you need advice on the local area too....B&B available.....

Lovely pub with lovely staff and good vibes all round. The rooms were nice enough and can't complain. Owner was helpful and was able to supply a packed lunch as I was working early and wouldn't be able to make it to breakfast which was amazing. I think the rooms would do well for a quick run around with a carpet cleaner. Unless it's the design of the carpet. I think a desk with the room to replace the dresser the kettle is on would be more useful to me.
