5* 1st visit 1* 2nd visit. I will start with the 1st visit we went as a family of 5 celebrating a birthday we had excellent service, excellent food and a lovely atmosphere. The 2nd visit was my boyfriend and I we had a lovely waiter greet us and take us to our table. The service was quite poor we had 1 starter and 2 main courses and we were there for 2hours. For the starter we had the king prawns which were nice but 4 king prawns for £10 is a bit much. We then had a pizza and a Calzone for mains. The Calzone was half burnt and my boyfriend had a quite word with the owner who was rather defensive, he said he would go and check in the kitchen and 15mins later came and tapped him on the shoulder and said 'cheers we will adjust the oven'. One other thing that was quite surprising was the owner made a passing comment to the table behind about them making their own fresh pesto in the resturant, i later found that to be untrue when I saw him walking in with 4 pots of green pesto from the local coop. We feel that we get better value for money and better food from ASK and Prezzo. Quite a turn of events from the 1st visit to the 2nd which now means we probably...
Read moreWe chose this restaurant for our friends birthday and a few of us had been before. The food was amazing as was our waiter. However the waiter accidentally knocked over a bottle of red wine and it went all over the table and our friends white shirt and jeans. The waiter was very apologetic and we didn't want to embarrass him or make a fuss so we carried on with our meal. When we asked for the bill we asked for the bottle of wine that had been spilled to be taken off. The manager came over and to our surprise was very rude. He said he would have to check the CCTV and said he hadn't seen it happen. Our friend was covered in wine and the manager asked where his shirt was from and proceeded to look at the label and scoffed that it was from next. He then said if it doesn't come out bring it in and he will pay the dry cleaning. He refused to take the bottle of wine off the bill and offered us a limoncelli shot which most restaurants give free any way. He made us feel like we were lying and came across very abrupt. So disappointing as everything...
Read moreLovely meal in general with good, friendly staff and great wine. Only One problem was dry over cooked Branzino which I doubled checked came with a sauce, I was told I would get a pot of sauce. When it came out it was a bit dry and over cooked with hardly any sauce let alone a pot! It tasted good but was dry and over cooked, I ate the top half only! I hate dry food, that’s why I checked! I complained and explained the problem that they could clearly see from the half of fish I returned. They apologised but still proceeded to put it on the bill and didn’t even offer a coffee as a good will gesture! We paid but left a fraction of the tip we would have ( would have left the price of the dish in appreciation). Everybody else’s food (starters and mains for 5 ) was great and very much enjoyed, thank you. We all...
