As a child, my family used to travel up and down the length of England using North Western Coaches, stopping at various cities and cafeterias en route. I have the fondest memories of good cafes, good food, good service, and a sense of fulfilment, having visited the usual venues. Manchester Road Cafe is a very smart, clean, and healthy reminder of that kind of nostalgia, and when you go inside, there are plenty of tables and chairs that are comfortable, well laid out, clean and welcoming. When you look at the menu you are given a good selection of choices starting with two types of full English breakfast with either one or two items of each of the main ingredients, together with a range of meal variations/combinations, together with other meals normally associated with later in the day, all at excellent prices. There is a good number of staff members, both in the kitchen and serving/waiting on, which ensures quick, efficient, and very professional service, which minimizes the wait to receive the good quality produce. Everything is freshly made, there are good size portions, and there is flexibility, particularly in the breakfast at the time l was there. If you don't like a particular item, you can swap it for an extra one of the others that you have on your plate. For example, I don't like black puddings, so I had an extra fried egg in its place at no extra charge. Well done, Manchester Road Cafe. I also like a good mug of tea, and that's certainly what you get with your meal, together with 2 rounds of white or brown bread, toasted. There were beans, tomatoes, eggs, bacon, and sausages, which were gorgeous to enhance the eating experience. Full marks, great service, and seems to be doing exceptionally well growing in popularity. A distant family member of mine had a transport cafe for over 50 years, with his brothers and his father, and business is always good throughout the morning and the opening time here of 8 am and finishing time around 2 p.m is perfect both for the establishment and for the times that we are ready to eat. I'm sure you'll enjoy all that you have and have no hesitation in recommending it to you.

Lovely little cafe that has bloomed in the last 2 years. Today was my first visit in 12 months and sadly not as good as previous visits. I had pudding chips peas and gravy. The meal took 30 mins which was fine and expected and the layout of the food looked great. The pudding you could not fault and the food was piping hot. The chips were good but a bit to McDonald's like and to think to taste. The biggest let down was the peas and the gravy. The peas had almost no taste and the gravy was tasteless. It applied what looked like a perfect meal. Gravy definitely needs a big improvement. I expected better from my previous visits as this is a meal I have had many times.

Had lunch there last week. Had a pint & then a burger with fries & salad. The beer came with the biggest head on sp had to ask for that to be sorted. Food was nice, but both meals were meant to come with salad - which we had to ask for. When asked about it, the server said the chefs only put salad on if people ask for it. But why would people need to ask for something that's included in the meal.

This was the 1st time I had been to eat in the restaurant, I have had takeaway a few times and thought it would be great, how wrong I was it's amazing to think that the staff don't know which tables are which and it was only after the problem we had that they put numbers on the tables. We ordered two small breakfasts with brown toast each and the toast didn't turn up. When I asked a waitress she then went away and then came out 5 mins after to ask if we had had it. We still hadn't. By this time the breakfast was getting cold. A man then came out and asked us if we had had the toast and that if we hadn't he would not charge us for it. All I wanted was the toast but rather than argue with the guy I said just forget it. I just wanted to get out of there because we felt we were being made out to be lying about the toast. Not a great experience. May I suggest you give your staff more training on where the tables are and what numbers they are and maybe give them certain tables they should look after so they can manage them to a better standard. It's just basic stuff. On leaving we overheard the next table to us say that they had sent two lots if brown toast back. Because they had not ordered it. Clearly a communication problem. We live local and go past everyday and have always wondered what it would be like to eat in. Now we know, We won't be doing it again. Food was good would have been even better if it was warmer but as I was waiting for my toast well enough said....
