Hurst's Bakery — Restaurant in Wirral

I came in yesterday and when I was being served I noticed a fly on the ice buns and other cakes now I usually go the one on Duke Street as the food in there is pretty decent, in all honesty I paid for my food and put it in the bin. I know these type of things can't be helped as it's open but it's not acceptable.

Hurst's need to update themselves in general. Cakes shouldn't be open to air as they dry out and taste aweful. They should be inside a glass cabinet or something else that locks in moisture. (Would avoid flys laying on food also) The pasties are aweful absolutely no taste in them and the pastry leaves a little to be desired. The staff however are lovely you can't fault them... I just think if a little money is spent to update the shop things in there would be alot nicer. I won't be coming here again due to the fact it's not very clean to have the likes of cakes and flapjacks open to flys and anything else that...

For the same price you can get a Subway sandwich which is far superior. But it is not the reason I gave one star. The only one star is for Phyllas and the tall lady. If it was possibe I would give minus 5 to the other two unorofessional short ladies. was behind in the queue and they were disrespectfully laughing at the gentleman in front of me. At his face. To get it worst she couldn't talk to him because she was laughing at him while he was placing his order. Then she would go to the other short lady and both laugh at him. With Lidl now opened I will never return...

Very expensive for average food. Pretty miserable staff. Over-charged me for a sausage and mushroom (tiny) batch. When I politely queried it the server took my batch out of the bag, removed one of two tiny sausages and then charged me the correct price. It was very strange! Been popping in and off for years.
