We come to thus lovely cafe where lot of people will go when we do a nice dog walk around the fields where the dogs love it and we decided as we get to the car park we could do with something to drink and a bit to eat specially when my son is a diabetic Tipe 1 and he needed a sugary drink as is blood sugar levels where low so we decided to pop in the cafe and have a 2 orange juices and 2 cokes and my sone he wanted something to eat so we order the drinks and the food at some time bacon egg and sausage roll banana pancakes and aportion of chips for my daughter something simple so we got the drinks in less than 5 to 10 minutes which we understand that the place is busy then we almost finished the drinks my kis and my wife gor sure I had a bit left on my orange juice then I thought the food is taken long time this is a35 minutes late after we order I then ask one server to check if the food was coming the server went to check the kitchen and come back with a bad news fir us that the food it was going to be another 25 to 30 minutes where we noticed a couple that sat opposite us the sat down after we got there and they where already having there sandwiches o thought this is rong I work as restaurant manger and this is not acceptable I ask the server obviously to cancel my order and get me the drinks bill as we have to leave so he did then the manager approach the table clear the table up apologies with no much interest in do it properly says we have aboard says is a long wait on food and I reply I didn't see it and no one told me that but if you can't handle 30 dishes on the menu just do 5 and serve people properly not let people wait 35 minutes for a sw, pancake and chips then another 25 to 30 minutes if we wanted to wait I thought you this is. Not acceptable specifically when I work on same industry. Unfortunately I have to say this is a bad...

The area is child friendly. I visited with my son, who is one year old, and and my daughter, who is 3 years old. They both enjoyed the visit and were easily supervised during our time in this area. It has ornate seating which the children were climbing on and a picnic area that is surrounded by fencing that will keep children and dogs safe from the driveway.

The food was absolutely lovely and the staff were very accommodating.

I had the sausage roll and it was quite simply the best sausage roll I have ever eaten!

There is seating available both inside. The chairs are comfortable to sit on and the tables don't feel cramped.

The area has stunning views and ample space for my two young children to run about and explore. There are clear paths as well as woodland trails. The local wildlife is lovely to look at and makes the whole experience enchanting. There are nice, safe spaces for them to walk and parking suitable to our needs.

The nearby walk can be quite long and there is very little shelter from the sun so becareful of that if walking. There were also no benches in the stretch that we walked so factor that into your visit too.

It's very tranquil are and you will find yourself emersed in nature. There is a free public car park, which makes it much easier to visit. Dogs are also welcome inside the cafe itself.

All in all it was a great...

Have been here a few times, is normally okay for a dog walk and something quick to eat- however this time, we came with our dogs, one of the dogs is tiny and a little bit nervous, she was shaking so I put her on my lap, she wasn’t on the table or even as close to the table as some of the bigger dogs that were there, one of the male members of staff came over and asked me to put her on the floor ( iv had my dog on my lap many times there and have never had an issue) I put her down a bit confused, when we got our drinks order taken I just checked that she wasn’t able to be on my lap, the other server seemed confused as to why it had been said, one of the other girls working there took it upon herself to listen to the conversation and come over tell me it was against there policy’s because they shouldn’t be where people are eating… it’s supposed to be a dog friendly cafe, she wasn’t on the table, she didn’t have her head on the table, and not only that, there we’re multiple others with there dogs on there laps or that had big dogs that were standing with there heads on the table. Begs the question of weather there sanitising the tables after being used. It just felt really unessasary and nit picky. Been there multiple times and never had an issue with it. Didn’t seem as dog friendly as they like to come...

This place gets very busy, although when our food was delivered there were some intruders in the salads! We discovered ants in the lettuce! Now whilst you can understand ants can be in a lettuce, should have been washed ideally before being placed on someone’s plate! The overall quality here when it’s busy seems to slip slightly, which is a shame as they are part of a local chain of pubs that I always rate very highly. I’m not sure why we found ants in our food, and as you can imagine it spoilt the experience a little if I’m honest. We informed the management, and they handle it in a really friendly and what I would say, a more than acceptable manner. So although we were a little disappointed on the day of our visit, we will most certainly be returning! As I always say, no problems just solutions, and these guys really do handle any issues really well. The location and grounds around the cafe are beautiful, and the setting alone is worth the visit, and when the food is on point here, it’s really on point! So what started out as a little disappointing, we were treated really well and they solved our issues quickly and efficiently. So even though we found some unwanted friends in our food / lettuce, I still rate this place as 5 stars and would absolutely revisit!

If I could give it 4.5 stars I would. Food was lovely, though I was a bit miffed at the size of my side of chips; it was rather small considering the price. I had the chicken Caesar salad, and was happy it came with anchovies (as it should). The croutons were lovely and crisp and obviously freshly made. There was a little bit too much dressing for my taste but lots of people like more dressing than me, so I wouldn't mark it down on that. It was tasty and filling. My friend has Ham egg and chips, the eggs were runny, but not snotty, and the ham was good quality ham and warm (which my friend enjoyed). The serving staff were lovely, however again, I was a bit miffed that when I asked for a glass of water I was told to help myself at the tap just outside the door. I wouldn't have been particularly bothered by this, however they add a 'discretionary' 10% service charge onto your bill. I hate when places do this, it feels like a hidden charge. Either charge more and pay your staff more (and feel free to put somewhere on the menu that the food costs more because you pay your staff better), or let customers decide if and how much they like to tip. On the whole day we had a lovely time and good food. Would recommend.

Wonderful place to start and finish a wall on Horshell common, with a full selection of fresh locally sourced food. The brunch is a particular highlight, but it's only served until 12 on the dot, whilst the cream tea doesn't start until 2pm. That said plenty of lovely lunch options of what you would expect - paninis, burgers, jacket potato, sandwiches and soups. There was some good vegan and gluten free options (good as in quality rather than plentiful!) if you are going there with anyone with any intolerances. Best of all, this place is super dog friendly and has lots of outdoor seating, both overlooking the common and under a larger marquee for shade or wind break. The dogs are welcomed indoors, but it's a small space, so when busy you need to be accept that outdoors is easier. The marquee does provide cover on dreary days. They have dog treats and water available for pooches, and a kids menus. Lovely place for a weekend walk and treat.
