This place gets very busy, although when our food was delivered there were some intruders in the salads! We discovered ants in the lettuce! Now whilst you can understand ants can be in a lettuce, should have been washed ideally before being placed on someone’s plate! The overall quality here when it’s busy seems to slip slightly, which is a shame as they are part of a local chain of pubs that I always rate very highly. I’m not sure why we found ants in our food, and as you can imagine it spoilt the experience a little if I’m honest. We informed the management, and they handle it in a really friendly and what I would say, a more than acceptable manner. So although we were a little disappointed on the day of our visit, we will most certainly be returning! As I always say, no problems just solutions, and these guys really do handle any issues really well. The location and grounds around the cafe are beautiful, and the setting alone is worth the visit, and when the food is on point here, it’s really on point! So what started out as a little disappointing, we were treated really well and they solved our issues quickly and efficiently. So even though we found some unwanted friends in our food / lettuce, I still rate this place as 5 stars and would absolutely revisit!

Wonderful place to start and finish a wall on Horshell common, with a full selection of fresh locally sourced food. The brunch is a particular highlight, but it's only served until 12 on the dot, whilst the cream tea doesn't start until 2pm. That said plenty of lovely lunch options of what you would expect - paninis, burgers, jacket potato, sandwiches and soups. There was some good vegan and gluten free options (good as in quality rather than plentiful!) if you are going there with anyone with any intolerances. Best of all, this place is super dog friendly and has lots of outdoor seating, both overlooking the common and under a larger marquee for shade or wind break. The dogs are welcomed indoors, but it's a small space, so when busy you need to be accept that outdoors is easier. The marquee does provide cover on dreary days. They have dog treats and water available for pooches, and a kids menus. Lovely place for a weekend walk and treat.

I hadn't been back to the farm since the cafe opened but it's great to see it doing well. We had a lovely walk, all the way up to Fairoaks past the horses and back again. We then settled into the cafe before the showers turned up with a well-earned, delicious milkshake. The staff were very friendly, one woman in particular but I didn't catch her name sadly. Everyone walking was very friendly and considerate of other walkers, it is a shame then when you see some inconsiderate dog owners have left behind their dog's doings - in some cases right next to the dog bin provided! But aside from that, it's a lovely walk, as you trek further along you allow yourself time to enjoy the sound of the crickets and can stop over the bridges to watch the pond skaters. I would like to visit in different seasons to see how the landscape changes and develops.

Mediocre food, great location. Dog friendly, and great for kids. Hot chocolate was luke warm. Even marshmallows on top stayed solid and didn’t melt. Eggs Benedicts were just warm when they arrived with-a slice of tasty but frozen cold slice of ham in the middle. Perhaps fry or bring it to room temperature at least? The fries were fried in cold oil, not only were the fries soaked with oil, they were room temperature when served. Pancakes and milkshake were an insult with its tiny portions. Could have put more than 5 slivers of banana on it. Overall, food is mediocre at best and the fact they serve food warm/room temperature instead of hot, doesn't help. Order at the till, their app requires a sign up which demands all your personal details. Again, great location and fantastic if you want to bring kids, dogs etc.

I ordered 2 coffees and a mocha along with 2 sausage rolls at £4.50 each. The coffees were served straight away. Coffee wasn't very good, tasteless. We sat and waited for the sausage rolls. After finishing our drinks they still hadn't arrived. So I went and asked for them to be wrapped so I can take them away. I was told by a miserable waitress that they were cooked to order!! I wasn't asking for excuses just for them to be wrapped to take away. I was handed the 2 sausage rolls and to my surprise one was half the size of the other. When I questioned this I was told by the same waitress that I was lucky to have the bigger one as it had an extra end piece ..... 🤔????? I couldn't be bothered arguing. Just won't go back.

Great atmosphere and food. Good portions and reasonable price. However waitering service could be improved. Used cutlery and plates from previous customers were not cleared before we sat down in the cabin. We had to ask for someone to clear it when we were served our food despite waiters being available to clear it. Cutlery was not provided with the food, so I had to get it myself. The station nearest to us was not kept full, I had to ask for the manager for cutlery and to top it up. Tip for improvement: Waiters to clear tables more efficiently by prioritising tables people are sat at before clearing empty tables.
