Grill-It Stafford Road — Restaurant in Wolverhampton

1st time going & I must recommend. Me and hubby visited on Xmas eve after a stressful day visiting a dear one in hospital & we were starving & greeted by friendly staff, offered a choice of seating & talked through the process. The queue at the bar was increasing so Ash (female) offered to serve us at the food counter. As I was comparing it to Nando’s she allowed me to sample the “hot” flavour with a few fries so I was satisfied with my order. The price is pretty decent, we had Our meals & 1 alcoholic beverage (vast selection) each, all for £20. Staff ensure you are happy with ur food & even collected out cutlery when we forgot. At the end, I had an interesting political discussion with Ian at the bar, who was very friendly & a good lad. Overall the staff, service, food and atmosphere is 100% & I would definitely go back to this particular branch, despite It being further for us to travel. The only way I can describe this place in a nutshell is.... a fraction of the price to Nando’s with the quality that Nando’s started out with before they became busier & commercial !! I visited this restaurant today ( January 15th 2020 ) to meet a friend for lunch , and having previously dined at the Tettenhall Road branch , I was really looking forward to it. We arrived for opening at 12 noon , but when we tried to gain access at 1210hrs , we realised the door was locked - we peered through the window and were instructed by pointing staff to go to the front door ( where we had just been! ) they also tried the door and appeared shocked that it was still locked , so unlocked it and let us in - no problem! ( also , no apology! ) We sat down and were instructed to place our order at the bar when ready - however , when we were ready , there was no staff to be seen - they were obviously not busy as we were the only customers there , apart from a gentleman who was using a laptop. Due to this lack of attention and after waiting for several minutes , we grabbed our coats and went next door to eat at The Island House chip shop , where customer service was excellent , friendly and we enjoyed two fantastic meals for a fraction of the price - such a shame , as I'm sure the...

I have visited Grill It on Stafford Road few times, primarily for the food, which I find quite enjoyable. However, I feel compelled to share my thoughts on the service aspect of my experiences.

Despite the presence of a considerable number of staff, I've consistently observed a lack of respectful greetings. The atmosphere gives off a vibe as if they don't particularly want us there. Throughout my visits, I've noticed a lack of inquiries about the food's satisfaction or any assistance needed. Moreover, the table cleanup is inconsistent, especially when dessert is ordered.

On top of that, there seems to be a recurring issue with items being out of stock. Booking a table doesn't appear to make a difference, as it's not consistently noted, leading to a sense of disappointment when arriving for a booked table.

While I appreciate the quality of the food, the overall service experience leaves much to be desired. In contrast, I would recommend the Tettenhall location where the food is commendable, and the staff display politeness and a friendly...
