Popped in to the Anchor Inn as we had just visited Croome NT. The lady behind the bar was very polite and very friendly. We ordered Chef's pie and Hunters Chicken, both meals were very nice and well presented. The price was a little higher than we usually pay but was definitely worth it. Great service, we would recommend a visit here if you are passing through. Look out for the signs on the road through the village. Thanks for a lovely lunch.

Sunday Roast undoubtedly is the long standing British Institution and my most favourite meal. I love traditional Sunday Roast at the Anchor Inn with choice of meat (chicken, beef, Turkey or combination of any two of your favourites), yummy vegetables and especially how they always prepare extra gravy for us without any alcohol in it on our request is great. ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø

Lovely food and atmosphere, we had the squid bites and halloumi for starters which were amazing, we had the brownie for pudding which is the best brownie I've ever eaten.

What a great place - WELL worth the 100-yard detour from the main road! Great pub atmosphere, Awesome food (great breakfasts, decent main menu, eye-popping Sunday roasts), a small range of ales but they are really good, a young but professional staff, and Jack (mine host) leads them well and really looks after his customers. The accommodation is not cheap but there is a reason for that - it too is fantastic! I would rate this 4.99 out 5, the squeaky floorboards upstairs being the only letdown. Honestly, this place is superb. If you think otherwise, have a quiet polite word with Jack and I guarantee he’ll listen. Don’t stay on the Main Street - Eckington has so much more to offer and The Anchor Inn is the...

Oh my goodness!! Find this place and eat there! Proper comfort food, and I’m soooooo sorry I didn’t have space for dessert (they looked AMAZING!!). I’m not a thick cut chip kinda girl (I love my French fries) but PROPERLY cooked thick cut fries, that’s a rare find - equally PROPERLY cooked onion rings! Theirs, the perfect balance! An onion ring you can bite into without too much soft batter, and a ring of onion that doesn’t slap you across your chin (equally rare find) - I am pleased to say they have got it NAILED!! And our host was truly beautiful, and hospitality defined!! Truly, truly a must for a fine olde traditional venue tied with an en pointe dining...
