We had a lovely morning out in Stratford on Avon and then decided to eat at the White Heart on our way back home. My wife ordered sirloin steak £24, I had the Sunday carvery. The roast potatoes were like bullets totally inedible, I didn't complain, I just took them off my plate and placed them in a serviette, and returned to the carvery to replace them with new potatoes. I sat down and my wife said that the steak was very fatty, she doesn't like to complain so just cut appropriately one third of the steak off and left it on the side of her plate. A young waitress came to ask how the meal was so obviously I said that the steak was very fatty, the young girl went to tell the chef and came back to say that we could have one free drink as compensation. I politely said no thanks and that we would not be paying all of the money for the steak. The chef then appeared in no time who was very abrupt and rude, he said to my wife with all respect madam sirloin steak is meant to be fatty and there's no problem with it, I explained that I eat steak quite often and that there is no way that a restaurant should be charging that amount of money for a steak which was one third atleast full of fat. He then accused me of being rude and said I didn't know what I was talking about, I asked to speak to the manager, he said he was the manager, if true I can not believe how rude and how unprofessional anyone could be who is running a business. He then removed both plates from us and we paid only for the drinks. My wife who does not like confrontational at all left broken hearted and in floods of tears. It wasn't about the money its about someone who supposed to be doing the right thing in a professional manner who was doing totally the opposite and acting like a petulant child. We are both still totally in shock and upset by this person's unprofessional behaviour. Please folks avoid...
Read moreNot your usual review. We visited on a Wednesday evening and I didn't spend a penny. I didn't pay for my food, which wasn't served until way gone 10pm, but my friends and I had a great night, and all being well we will be back in the summer to do the same again. This is because tonight it was the Worcester Wednesday Darts League, and I being a designated driver for my team had the privilege of my drinks being paid for by my enthusiastic team mates. So an evening on the coke for me. This was our second visit to play against the White Hart Faithful, and it was just as enjoyable as the first. Whilst we emersed ourselves in a tense evening of darting competition down one end of the pub, a healthy sway of visiting customers occupied the remainder, and we're probably slightly amused by the moans, groans and cheers plus a few extras coming from our end of the building. Once we finished, it was well into the evening, most punters had long gone, and our excellent hosts brought out a late supper for the two darting teams. We we're treated to a platter of sausages and fries plus the most remarkable stew I have tasted for some time. It was an offering of pork, apple and mushroom mixed with a gorgeous blend of herbs and spices. It was so good it was seconds all round and not a scrap left. It was a satisfying end to an evening shared in a competative and friendly atmosphere amongst two great teams. Well done to everyone at the White Hart from the Bedwardine Bullseyes 🎯 We look forward...
Read moreBooked for 2pm today assuming that recently reopened refurbished it would be a busy place , very quiet on arrival, having booked expected some form of meet and greet, instead we were informed that our reserved table was occupied and that we should find our own seats. Found a table but then sat there for 5 mins not sure of what the service arrangements were so approached the bar for some assistance, told a waitress would be with us soon. Eventually approached by possibly the worst attitude waitress ever, all no worries and there you go attitude, more associated with Macdonald's. Ordered drinks, mine was a sparkling mineral water, it was served in a thick glass the sort you expect for ice cream sundae, on tasting it I found a sweet perfumed type of drink, when I addressed the so called waitress she told me it was fizzy elderflower, I attempted to explain that I had ordered sparkling water, got talked over being told that the pub didn't serve sparkling water. Moving on to the food order, chose the Lamb Wellington, told it wasn't on the menu, I asked how could this be having just reopened the pub, surely they couldn't have run out, told no it's not there because it wasn't ordered in,doesn't say much for the homecooked food claim. All in all probably the worst pub lunch experience ever. At this stage we walked out, will not be returning, suggest that the manager embarks on some serious staff training before the place closes again, ...
