I am pleased to share my wonderful experience at The Dog in Harvington, Stourbridge, and I must give special recognition to the exceptional service provided by Anna.

From the moment we stepped into The Dog, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The rustic charm of the place immediately set the tone for a delightful dining experience. As we settled in, Anna welcomed us with a genuine smile and an eagerness to make our visit memorable.

Now, let's talk about the food. We had the pleasure of trying a variety of dishes that left our taste buds dancing with delight. The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the Sunday roast. The beautifully cooked roast with its succulent and tender beef, accompanied by perfectly roasted potatoes and an array of well-seasoned vegetables, was an absolute treat. It was a true testament to the skill of the kitchen, and we couldn't have been happier with our choices.

What truly stood out, however, was Anna's impeccable service. Her attentiveness, knowledge of the menu, and willingness to accommodate our preferences made the experience truly special. She guided us through the menu with expertise, ensuring that each dish was tailored to our liking. Her friendly demeanor and genuine interest in our dining satisfaction added an extra layer of enjoyment to our time at The Dog.

Anna's dedication to providing top-notch service truly made our visit unforgettable. She is a true asset to The Dog, and her commitment to enhancing our dining experience did not go unnoticed.

In conclusion, The Dog in Harvington is a gem worth visiting, and Anna's exceptional service elevated our time there to another level. Whether you're seeking delectable food, a cozy atmosphere, or outstanding service, The Dog checks all the boxes. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit, and be sure to say hello to Anna when you do – you're in...

I have always enjoyed going to the dog and do go there a fair few times especially in the summer. But here is today's review. My partner and I arrived and found a table quite quickly. It had a bit gravy on nothing massive so I asked the girl with blondish hair in pony tail if she would wipe it. She didn't appear to be to happy about this. However, she promptly cleaned it and asked if we would like a drink and we said 1 coke and 1 water. The waitress with the brown hair and glasses young girl took our order was friendly and made us feel welcome. Food arrived in good time was tasty nice burger chips and onion rings were delicious. So when we finished we asked for the bill. It came and i noticed it was 2.90 for the coke. I questioned the young waitress as that seemed excessive for one coke. She then explained they did a regular coke and a free refil coke. And I got what I ordered. So I explained to the young lady at no time was I told they did two different sizes, neither was I told that it was a refil. I was just given the coke. I complained and I said if they offer two different prices/ or ways of having coke why did the other lady not offer me the choice or indeed explain that the one " she had decided for me" was a refil. I made it clear I was not happy. She did apologise. I was annoyed with this because there is no information about the two sized cokes on the table. The waitress did not explain to me there was so I was duped into paying 2.90 for a refil I knew absolutely nothing about. I did say to the waitress these things need to be mentioned so the " customer" can make an informed choice. On a good note she was a lovely waitress and the food was great. The incident won't stop me visting again but...

I cannot praise this establishment enough, last night was our fourth visit, (although i used to use this pub frequently in the 80’s), as always we were greeted straight away by a member of staff and shown to our table immediately, having booked two days prior. We ordered drinks from a fabulous selection of ales, lagers, wines and spirits. We chose a large coke for the designated driver, pint of cider and two pints of an American IPA I’m very sorry as I did not take their names, but there were 3 ladies on last night between 7.30 and 11.00 as we stopped till the end. All 3 of the staff went above and beyond in our opinion to make sure that our time there was a memorable one. I was going to have a pint of San Miguel as I dont like real ale, the waitress asked if i liked IPA which I do but did not see it when I walked in, So several pints later, I’m hooked, they had run out of steaks and mixed grills, but recommended to me steak and ale pie, for the love of god and all the saints, Mary, Joseph and the wee donkey, what arrived on my plate was a plethora of forbidden wonders. The description on the menu, does this no justice, just a little teaser of what will arrive. Mouth watering vegetables, creamy mash potato, glazed carrot that were to die for and a pie fit for a king, oozing with succulent steak with a rich ale gravy encased in perfect crusty pie, but OH MY GOD, the best was yet to come, she also recommended to accompany this BEEF DRIPPING GRAVY, I had to go to St Ambrose church this morning for confession to which my penance was 4 Our Fathers, 3 Hail Marys and to sweep the church car park with a toothbrush....

Table of 12 as a family get together for our daughter's 20th birthday. Waited a long time to order. Very small portion of meat on 1 roast dinner (staff provided more). Roast beef was very dry and tough with lots of gristle. Barely edible. When we complained we were brought a plate of freshly cooked beef which was extremely rare and looked very unappetising. Consequently only a small amount of this was eaten by ourselves (but the large dog at the table next to us enjoyed the rest). Subsequently we were offered complimentary desserts for those who had ordered the beef but disappointingly these never arrived. We received the child's dessert we'd ordered but 30 minutes later still hadn't received the adult desserts. When we queried this, we were told that they had been cancelled off the bill at the till and this had also cancelled them in the kitchen. Unfortunately, the kitchen staff were not told that the desserts still needed to be prepared and so we never received them. Overall, our experience was very disappointing, especially as it was meant to be a celebratory meal. We last visited many years ago and were disappointed then. It's a shame that things haven't improved and we won't be recommending The Dog.

27/10/24 After being let down at another pub, even though these guys were very busy, they found us a table and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal, service and setting, the apple and cherry crumble was soooooo good ❤️ Once back from our honeymoon we will be returning for another meal or 2 ❤️ 17/11/24 WELL! after a 3 week honeymoon we returned here today for a final meal before we return to work, what can I say, same meals, same deserts, same fantastic service. We would highly recommend this Pub/Resturant to anyone looking for a relaxed evening out for a nice meal at a fantastic location with brilliant service ❤️ 30/08/2025 Starter was terrible, must have a new chef as the same starter previously was how a Camembert should be served, this was microwaved cheese inside a road loaf of bread with a pickle, no salad/garnish! Such a shame as all of our previous visits have been so good. The burger was very greasy so we didn’t want to try a desert. Very disappointed .
