The Hop Pole Inn in Bewdley is hands down one of my favourite places to eat and relax. Pendo and his amazing team always deliver – friendly, welcoming, and full of energy, they create a fantastic atmosphere every time we visit. The seasonal menu is absolutely brilliant – packed with fresh, locally inspired dishes that change throughout the year. I especially love Burger Night – there’s always something new and creative each week. And Pie Night is just as amazing, with different delicious pies every week – real comfort food done properly! There’s plenty of parking which makes visiting super easy, and the fact that it’s dog friendly is a massive bonus. Whether it’s a casual midweek meal or a weekend treat, The Hop Pole always delivers. Highly recommended!

One of the worst roast dinners I’ve ever had, disgusting reheated grey tasteless cauliflower cheese, severely overcooked beef(it looked like a slab of wood), lamb and pork- overcooked and dry. Terrible offering of veg consisting of steamed courgette and a tiny amount of cabbage, no seasoning, roast potatoes tasted like old leftovers, gravy was tasteless instant rubbish. Ordered extra pigs in blankets and they tried to give us one lonesome sliced up pig in blanket in a sad little bowl, Whoever made that food should change career immediately, Pub manager should get recruiting someone that cares asap

Popped in to try the ales and wow lovely little rustic country pub with a mix of modern and traditional decor. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Drink selections are great from craft ales through to the everyday selections of draught beers and ciders and wide variety of spirits etc. Also have a great menu for food and snacks. Would highly recommend popping in and seeing it for yourselves. I personally enjoy a good ale and here they have a great little ale called "RAZOR BACK" from the ringwood brewery and I must say it is worth trying. Looking forward to my next visit.

Me and my family ate here for Mother’s Day lunch. This was our first visit and immediately I liked the decor and that they had a kids play area. The kids meals were very reasonably priced at £6.25 each. Me and my partner both had the lamb roast, the food took a little while to come but we didn’t mind that because it did appear to be fully booked. The lamb was very tender and tasty and the gravy was exceptional, they were our favourite parts about the whole roast. The rest of the meal however was very underwhelming. We were not impressed with the roast potatoes - they tasted ‘old’ like they had been made the day before or longer and not reheated well enough. They weren’t crispy and when cut into they fell apart into dry chunks. The greens weren’t to our taste but that’s probably down to preference but I’m not sure why you would choose to add courgette to accompany a roast? They were crunchy and tasted underdone as well as finding twig like stems in the bowl. The cauliflower cheese was okay although not very cheesy and the Yorkshire puddings looked amazing in stature but they were tasteless, dry and brittle. We did enjoy the roasted carrot and parsnip though but we only had one of each on our plates.

I feel compelled to mention the cheesecake because it was one of, if not the best cheesecake I think I’ve ever had. It was white chocolate and biscoff, super creamy and came with a delicious salted caramel ice cream. The cheesecake was the best part of the whole meal but unfortunately we wouldn’t return just because we feel it’s just posh pub grub with the £90 bill to match.

I also want to mention that we felt a little uncomfortable after our meal because the kids wanted to play outside on the play area as the weather was so nice so we thought we would finish our drinks out there too but we were almost immediately approached by a member of staff asking if we were done with our table and to come in and pay as soon as we can. I then passed by the bar with all member of staff looking at me to then be told ‘we do actually have a policy where you can’t be in the garden unless you’ve paid your bill’. I instantly felt like we were being watched hence feeling uncomfortable. I realise she was just doing her job but at no point were we told about this policy nor are there any signs detailing this. We were going to stay for another drink and enjoy the sunshine but this just ruined the atmosphere for us so we paid the...

Fairly Regular customer. Always liked the food and have never complained. Organised a party at christmas there also of 24 people. However I went there on Weds 20th March for a Birthday treat, I asked for a jacket potato instead of chips. When it arrived it was hard a third of the way up and small with lots of large black spots, I asked if they could change it. (Simple and polite request). They said it would be 20 mins but brought my meal back out for me to eat minus potato? I was disappointed and still hungry on leaving after telling them not to bother with the potato as i will have eaten my meat. My remainder of my meal was 1 onion ring half of small tomato 1 mushroom cress garnish, steak was sliced onglet so light and tender. Thought it odd that they expected me to eat the potato after id finished the meat hence why I thought I would let the owner know incase she had new staff on. I politely emailed Louise to tell her I was disappointed as one business owner to another. and this was her response. You should have pre ordered a jacket potato and I have had enough to honest. I have had a lovely evening doing a cupcake course so therefore I do not want to know! If you do not like our food then we are not the place for you! Our steak night is about chips not poxy potatoes! Don't bother replying by giving me verbal all night.

I am absolutely appalled by her response and it has upset me immensley and has but a dampner on my 50th birthday weekend, After talking to a few local people they all remarked how she does not like critisism. I can only go on my own experience.

I will never ever recommend this place or go there again. You know what they say, You can go somewhere and the food can be okay but the customer service fantastic or you can go somewhere and the food be good but the customer service is appalling. I know where I...

We all had an extremely poor excuse for a roast dinner at this pub. I couldn’t believe anyone would serve food so dry. It looked and tasted like it had been cooked last week and re-served today. The whole table was shocked but we were a large party with children and no time to go elsewhere. The meal served to us was completely different to the pictures online, we were very disappointed. There were no root vegetables and pigs in blankets were served chopped up as if it was being given to a toddler. Apparently for sharing but I’ve never known anyone to share a sausage never mind a pig in blanket.

One response suggests the piece of beef pictured was that dry due to it being sat on a hot plate. Those tacky serving boards were warm at best, If you check with your staff, we requested fresher beef as she was serving the food because it was served THAT dry. And to be honest, that wasn’t much better. I think we all know that food should not have been served to paying customers. I’m sure you will make your excuses rather than accepting accountability for your venues poor output.

When one member of the group gave honest feedback, very little interest was taken into making our experience better. It seems the owner expected individual feedback from all 10 guests? The waitress did say she would sort it out when feedback was given but this unfortunately had...
