The Cavalier — Restaurant in Wyre Forest

Never have i been treated so badly at an establishment! I was stood over 2 meters away with my mask on just asking an old friend how they were when the obnoxious woman who owns the pub raced up to me all threatening with a big German shepherd trying to jump up me and was shouted at to sit down! I tried to explain that I had only been stood there for a minute or so but all I got was this angry woman in my face shouting "you need to sit down!" I sat down and had one drink that my friend had ordered then left. The substantial meal was a tiny pork pie with a few crisps! Hardly substantial, the food here has never been any good since these new people have taken over and the place has zero atmosphere now, it used to be a vibrant happy pub with plenty of laughter, unfortunately all that has changed and not just because of covid. Needless to say I wont be stepping foot in that place until the current tenants has left. Maybe the woman should try serving alcohol instead of drinking it all for herself! Initially enquired about booking a table, tried to phone twice but no answer. Tried to message but no answer. Called again and booked. Came in on the day and they had no idea of a booking. We'd decided to try here after reading the menus online. Had not previously visited. My son had to go & ask for menus...he was given a sheet of white paper with some dishes on it. We asked where the other items were which are shown online to be told that there were no other choices. Compared to what we had seen online there was probably about 70% of the dishes missing from the paper menu. We would not have booked if we had known this beforehand.

Saying that, the meals were very nice. Service took a long time and it's not really a sit down quiet meal pub it's more of a drinkers pub. We had a nice evening but it was very loud and not what we had initially expected.

Not sure if the menu was smaller due to being the week before Christnas or whether the online website is...

Had a fabulous meal here with all the family, as a pre-Christmas treat. From the moment we arrived, Ben and his team made us very welcome and the table was perfectly set for our celebration. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, excellent quality and value. Will definitely be coming back and can't recommend highly enough. Well I've been back a few times since writing the above, and I'm still impressed! Ben has got a great team, and really fantastic pub. Update Gone again tonight for a meal and the food was outstanding again! We went all out with having 3 courses each and it was worth only having a salad at lunchtime to be able to feast this evening!
