This location is a bit rough, urinal in men's room is not secure and can see framing threw holes in the wall around it, men's door is about to come off the hinges, homeless people are camping out in the booths, the two waitresses argued often and yelled at the cook from dining area, while ordering the waitress did not speak clear but in a very fast to e leaving you to wonder what was just asked or communicated, with this orders around the dining area were incorrect and many apologies and discounts, my own order was incorrect I did not mention it, I did look for bugs and unclean food, although not farm fresh food was actually decent, quite a surprise, at checkout I waited for the waitress to push a broken cart back to the kitchen and checkout took about 15 minutes, the debit card machine was not working and my debit card left the area out of view for processing, the receipt I received showed correct charges and I was asked to add gratuity before checking out. We were a party of six, three were served then we were informed that door dash placed a order the remaining three orders were served for our party after the first three had finished eating and actually left the restaurant, I was hoping to find "managed by" information to personally inform management but did not see any and I couldn't wait to get out of there, I may never go to a Marlins again certainly...
Read moreIt used to be a good place to eat. The service was slow and the food was awful. I ordered a crispy chicken salad. The chicken was not cooked properly and tasted like plastic and old grease. The bacon was leftover from the morning buffet. It was burnt, hard as a rock, and not suitable for human consumption. When I asked them to replace the bacon, they said it was the only bacon that they had. It was interesting because the burgers had fresh cooked bacon on them that were fine. The waiter seemed to be completely confused when we asked to get tomato for the burger. He would constanly forget anything that was asked for. I understand that people have bad days, but this was rediculous. There is a lady that is a "waitress" there that feels that she shouldn't have to do her job. She delegates every portion of her job to other servers. The only thing that she might do is take your order. Once this has been done, she will sit at the counter and tell the other servers to deliver the food, clear the dishes, refill drinks, and clear the tables. Once all of this has been accomplished, she expects you to tip her, not those that actually waited on you. If you tip them, she demands the money from them. We have witnessed this several times and it's infuriating. Needless to say, there is a lot of changes that...

I hadn’t been back to Marlins since the 1980s when it was still the old Starlight Café, so stepping inside brought back a lot of memories. I even worked here for two years back in the day, with my brother carrying on the “legendary” family status (tongue-in-cheek).
We stopped in around 7:30 a.m. on a Sunday morning, just before the breakfast buffet started. The place wasn’t very busy, which surprised me since years ago you’d see a line out the door on weekends. Service was attentive but not chatty—our waitress had her hands full with her section, but she made sure everything got to us promptly.
Breakfast was classic truck stop fare: a ham & cheese omelet, hash browns, over-medium eggs, sausage links, and toast. It was good, nothing to complain about, but also nothing to write home about—solid, standard diner food.
I always make a point to check the bathrooms since I feel they reflect the state of the kitchen. In this case, I wasn’t impressed. The bathroom felt neglected, which pulled my overall rating down.
All in all, Marlins is a decent, no-frills stop for a traditional breakfast, but for me it lands right in the middle. Good food, okay service, but the condition of the bathrooms keeps it from being more...
