Bruh!! As my son would say. I saw this place was open and it's almost walking distance so I was on my way.
I don't eat cilantro & lime goes in my dos equis so these pictures are bare bones to their beautiful tacos.
I'm from McAllen, TX so many people, not from the Mexico or the border, may not understand. I had authentic Mexican food anywhere I went. When I worked the field my amigos felt bad I had sandwiches and would always give me some tacos. People at work wonder why I always eat tacos and I explain they're my form of sandwiches.
Regardless of all that it's been more difficult than one might think to get real Mexican food. I'm a Texan and I still don't understand Tex-Mex because we didn't eat that where I'm from. My mom and I are the only ones I know with a taco press in constant use.
It's been so hard to just grab an authentic taco when I used to just go to a store and be able to grab some off the stand out front. I literally remember the very 1st time I had chorizo & eggs which I saw on their menu.
I ended up just making a little sampler. Some cheese dip for the kiddo and of course some chorizo and cheese for me. There are plenty of chips if anyone was wondering.
Our dog is half chihuahua so I had to explain dogs can't have onions but she begged some meat out of me. I about have a tear but truly I'm smiling. I haven't been home in decades so to find this place and it's right up the road... I am so happy right now! Actual hot sauce, be careful.
The vibe inside is so chill. I didn't even realize how many were eating until after I ordered and looked at the best sign ever!
Heaven is what I told my kiddo. Except I am stuffed and there's more calling my name. Thankfully I said I'd be back to try the rest because I would be in a food coma if I brought that menu home.
Thank you Taco T!! I look forward to... well everything. You just made my traditional diet easy. I work so much it's a lot to cook all the time and the price is right! And everyone was super nice!!! Sorry, I'm about to take a nap.
Believe it or not people, most of this is healthier food than you might find elsewhere. Fresh, natural, I'm so...
Read moreWe tried Taco T today on the grand opening a d went through the drive thru. Ritchie helped us with our order he was very chill, helpful, let us know the options they had. We got the steak tacos (mexican and american style), ground beef tacos(American style) and a quesadilla for our daughter, we spent $20 and some change. My husband took notes while we tried everything so we could share our thoughts ha
Steak was very tender, juicy, well seasoned/marinated Tortillas- soft and warm Toppings- fresh and crisp Cheese- wasn't gritty or fake tasting Ground beef was well seasoned Portions on each taco were fair. It is not the size of a regular taco but it is great flavor worth the price
As a place just starting out they have everything that they need to succeed and just need the support of the community to do well, they have all the flavor of a sit down restaurant with the convenience of a drive through which works great for people like us that have multiple young kids that we don't want to possibly disturb others. Definitely will be back and sharing this spot so that they can be...
Read moreMy daughter and I had dinner here for the first time last night and WOW—absolutely DELICIOUS! It’s a casual, order-at-the-counter spot where you grab your own seat, and the place is BEAUTIFULLY decorated.
I had the carne asada and pastor tacos, Mexican style. Being from Southern California, my family and I have been on the hunt for Mexican food that tastes like home—and we’ve FINALLY found it! These tacos were spot-on, just like the ones we used to get back in SoCal.
The tacos didn’t come with any sauce—just a wedge of lime—but next time I’m definitely asking if they have a homemade hot sauce. I didn’t think to ask this time because I was too busy devouring every bite! My husband had been here before me and said the exact same thing about how amazing the food is.
Prices are great, and while the wait was a bit long, the restaurant was packed—and for good reason. Totally worth it. I really hope this place continues to thrive because we’re planning to make it a weekly stop. If you’re craving authentic Mexican street tacos, this is the...
