Golden City — Restaurant in Adams

I tried to like this place, I really did but I just don't. There service is great, never had an issue there but their food is not great. Their crab rangoon are terribly disappointing. They barely have any filling, like maybe a teaspoon of filling, and that filling tastes more like cream cheese than crab. They are like this EVERY time I go so I know that this is their standard. I've had their Egg Foo Young and it is kind of flavorless, I feel the need to add salt. Their Sesame Chicken has a nice flavor to the sauce but their chicken is extremely dry so pieces get stuck in my teeth and is painful. Most pieces are usually more breading than chicken as well. Their Egg Drop Soup is also lacking flavor as is their Fried Rice. I really did try to like this place and have ordered from here many times hoping that each time I will get a different result, but no, every time I am disappointed in their food. It's a shame because I love Chinese food and this is the only one in our area.

I've also had friends that tell me that a lot of arguing goes on in the kitchen when they are there to pick up food or dine in. I have not experienced this but find it unprofessional.

On Friday Dec 1, 2017 I ordered Hunan Beef. I ate the food within about 10 minutes after picking it up. It was still hot, though a little bland. The following day I was quite ill and spent much of the day in the bathroom. I've never written a negative restaurant review before today. I have been to Golden City a few times, in the past few years. Yesterday, it was really bad. All ice from parking to door. I ordered carry out; hunan chicken from lunch menu, includes fried rice, hot n sour soup, and an egg roll. Got home - no egg roll. I was really hungry, but couldn't finish a small cup of soup (which is my favorite) because it didn't taste right. Chicken & rice also had off flavor, so I couldn't finish that either.
