Birdies on the Hill — Restaurant in Adrian Township

I have eaten here many times, and I have always felt that this might be considered one of Adrian's "hidden gems." But tonight was an "off night" in the kitchen, I guess.

I ALWAYS order the Clam Chowder, and for a restaurant in South Michigan, it ranks way up there (despite what Jerry's at Wamplers Lake says about theirs!) Tonight was no exception—large pieces of clam and potato in a unique smoky bacon broth.

Knowing that I did not need much more than that, I ordered the Spring Roll Appetizer. It was a mistake. The wrapper was overcooked to the point of being burned. I rarely send a dish back, but I was tempted. The same result happened to my wife's sweet potato fries. The issue was simply that the fryer was too hot.

The service and the overall menu get high marks. The view out of the window over the golf course is very pleasant. But tonight, the kitchen unnecessarily stole the focus.

My girlfriend and I went out tonight to Birdies after we found an awesome tiktok about how cool the restaurant was. We were first met by our amazing bartender Bri who was phenomenal and taught us all her tricks about making the perfect drinks. We then met Mariah (the creator of these amazing cocktails) who filled us in on her inspiration for all of the fantastic drinks we sipped on throughout the night. We then got to experience how amazing the food was from Carl when he brought out an amazing appetizer (the jalapeno and artichoke dip) on the house for my girlfriend and I to enjoy. It was absolutely to die for! The food was seriously top tier and the staff made this place that much better. I love how you don't need club membership to come and dine here. There's a lot of food choices and they NEVER disappoint. Very delicious!! The service is always great! I love their LEMON PARMESAN CHICKEN and SHRIMP SCAMPI!!! Must try! The prices are so affordable considering the ambiance, food quality, and the fantastic golf course view - DEFINITELY WORTH IT!
