Contrabando — Restaurant in Aguadilla

This hole in the wall is what it is a hole in the wall. First of all if your around here then you live in San Antonio. If your visiting and you find this place then your a true adventurer. It's not easy to find I know it's close the plaza . And it has a small sign that says contrabando. Now the food is good when it's fresh. I think I arrived late and my food was microwaved. It still tasted good but I could tell by the taste and smell that it was microwaved. Even though it was microwaved to a nice temperature I still knew it wasn't as fresh as it could be... My husband and I love this place. It’s a very casual ambiance, very clean, employees very attentive and eager to provide a good service. The food is exceptionally good. The menu changes daily but there is also a “standing menu” from which to order. Personal favorite: chicken churrasgo! We have brought friends here from Holland, Kuwait, Germany, and various states in the US. Everyone we have brought here always asks to “go back again before we leave Puerto Rico”! A lot of their non-Hispanic food is very poor quality. I’ve dealt with stomach issues after eating here before with my brother and father. Worst is their ravioli, overcooked and mushy not even the sauce could save it. Tasted like a salty French onion soup.

One meal I did like from them was their Cuban Rice, which was delicious and the only thing that didn’t upset my digestion but they change up their menu/specials so much it’s hard to order again. :(
