I'll start with the positive. The sausage gravy is delicious and the coffee is good. I would've rated the food as a 5 but the biscuit was microwaved too long and 1/2 way through trying to eat it it was tough and difficult to cut with the plastic knife. The home fries were way overcooked and shriveled up and super dry. The scrabbled egg was chopped up and completely flat...nothing fluffy about it. Now my biggest complaint - the overkill on the "customer service". After being asked over 10 times in the span of 20 mins. I told one of the children working there for the umpteenth time that I was good and if I needed anything that I would let them know. She disappeared into the back, out comes the cook/owner, who again asks me if I'm good. I told her I was if I wasn't asked repeatedly how I was doing. Her reply...we just give good customer service. Let me clue you in on customer service. Its knowing that when your customer has said they'll let you know if they need anything...leave them alone. Customer service is not mumbling under your breath as you walk away how ridiculous I was. Customer service is addressing the issue when someone is asked at checkout if everything was OK and they reply with not today. Instead you choose just to wish me a good day. Customer service is teaching your children not to overkill the customer and leave a pleasant environment for them to enjoy their breakfast. This wasn't my first time there but I'm not sure I'll be returning if I'm...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place, but it was just a little better than ok for my first visit today. I'm glad for a new mom n pop place to fill in after the close of Autens. Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was casual. Plenty of coffee refills. Pancakes were light, fluffy and tasty; but they really missed the mark with the tough, overcooked sausage hockey puck. Also, the experience would be elevated with real cutlery instead of plasticware. But what really annoyed me was when I was asked how the meal was at checkout, and to be helpful I politely answered about the sausage, there was no comment at all, silence. You would think one of the three employees in earshot would have apologized and offered to do something to make it right; I left most of it on my plate bc it was inedible. On top of that, the 'check' had no indication of the amount owed. The man collecting took great pains to decipher the scribbling, and to calculate the amount. Poor form. It's good to know what you owe in case there's an error. This place has great potential to be a very good, budget-priced place to meet up with friends. It could easily be a four-star with some tweaking and...
