Yes, you were busy and probably short staffed from what I experienced. Waitress was great, smiling. The food was prepared nicely and unexpectedly quick! Yum. The fellow at the register left after a lengthy card transaction in front of me adding a polite, "I'll be right back." He didn't get back, lol, getting caught up elsewhere. So, why three stars? Well... busier than usual is NO excuse for the Black hostess to pass right in front of me, having witnessed my waiting to pay up with bill in hand. Not when she knew I had been waiting thru the last two sets of couples she seated and knowing the "cashier" was still busy in the kitchen area. Instead she starts off to seat people who had just come in the door. I mention this to the air, and even the couple said to this gal to ring me up, but no....and upon her return she gives me the silent treatment, and was a little huffy thrusting the change in my open palm, to have a coin fly off onto the lower counter area...somewhere. She wasn't even going to retrieve it! I bit my tongue, retrieved my disabled husband, left the 4 bills of change from the $20 for the waitress, so I could then get my husband back to his oxygen in our truck. It wasn't chaotic in there. I was not impatient. I was merely treated poorly by her. Teach this woman jump in and multi-task like the rest were, to exercise better judgment of "who is next", and definitely not misjudge the customer's reaction to her ineffectiveness, cuz you don't know MY (their) personal circumstance. I surely didn't expect to be shunned, only served in some semblance of order. I believe she is in the wrong business and would best serve on an assembly line...
Read moreIf I could give ZERO I would. Placed an online order at 7pm for an 8pm pickup. Total was $43 WITH a $5.36 tip. We arrived at 8pm to be told “oh we never got your order do you have proof” so we pulled the email confirmation up on our phone. The lady NEVER asked if we wanted our food made and didn’t offer a refund. We asked them “can we have a refund” she said “oh no we don’t do that grub hub does” to which we replied “we ordered from your website NOT Denny’s” she then proceeded to say then you need to contact the number on the website. I went to my car called the number listed on the website and it rang to the exact restaurant I was at and ordered at. I went back inside and asked for a manager. The manager came out I explained to him what was going on and he replied “yea we are short staffed and we can’t fulfill the order” I said “so you did get the order” and he said “yes we just don’t have the staff to cook it” now remember when you order online your email and phone number are listed so they had an hour to call and tell us they weren’t going to be making our order but they didn’t. I asked the manager for a refund to which we responded by saying “I can’t refund you” I say to this “oh so I’m leaving with no food and no money” the manager replied “you can call tomorrow when my boss is in to see what can be done” NEVER EVER WILL WE GO BACK TO THIS LOCATION WHICH IS OUR “LOCAL” RESTAURANT! What poor service and to think you can charge someone keep their money and give them no food, gift card or anything to make it right. I will be filing a corporate complaint and should I call tomorrow and nothing be done I will dispute it...
Read moreWe came in with friends who have often stopped at this specific restaurant and said it was good. We waited about 10 to 15 mins before anyone came to get us started with drinks after being seated. After ordering, we waited an hour and a half before our plates came out!! When they did, they forgot my husband’s plate of food. The kitchen insisted the server delivered it…but they hadn’t given it to her. Then the manager came to look at our table and compare with the order receipt. It was just ridiculous! Like, do you not trust what your server is saying to the kitchen?? I was a server for several years while going to school to become a Radiologic Technologist and get my BA in teaching. This manager really rubbed me wrong with the way he handled that situation so I made a point to go and talk with him to let him know that wasn’t his servers fault but his kitchen staff and whoever was supposed to be expediting the orders coming out of the kitchen. He gave me a smug and dismissive response, as well as looked annoyed. Then later came by and asked us how our food was. At that point, we were beyond hungry and just wanted to leave so we finished eating our disgustingly cold food, paid and left. Worst $100 we have ever spent to eat out. My family will NEVER go back to this Denny’s ever again. The other thing, as a manager, you do not make the excuse that you are really busy in order to justify poor service and horrible food but I know better than to argue with that type of person. After the first interaction with this manager, I chose to just walk out of there with my family and never return. Don’t waste your time or money...
