Keep in mind I was Hangry when I got here. This is how it went. I walked into lobby, 3 people sitting or standing. I asked employee if inside dining was open. I was sternly informed YES until 9. I sat down. only to be informed I must get up and order at the counter. I ordered steak and shrimp fajitas and a large glass of water. I was informed just like a Saturday Night Live skit I didn't have to get steak and shrimp I could get steak or shrimp or chicken or steak and chicken or chicken and steak or shrimp and steak or all three p. I wish you had been so forthcoming when I ask where they open. I was thrown at 8 oz Styrofoam cup I assume for my water that was self-serve. The water tap was broken it would come on but it would not turn off so I got splashed a little then had to turn it off with my other hand. I went back to the counter to order some chips because I was hungry. After several minutes I was able to order the chips. Then yes you guessed it they all came out at once. It looks pretty good. I had no knife and fork so I went back to the counter to ask for knife and fork. I was told firmly they were on my table. So I went back to look again no knife and fork. Back to the counter and waited several minutes and ask for a knife and fork again. I was asked was I sure they're not on my table. I said very. Then the food was disappointing. The onions and peppers are very salty and taste like they were sitting in a tomato stew. Steak sparse and salty. The four shrimp were okay. The refried beans excellent. I got to walk to the water tap and wrestled with it several times. The chips for we're greasy. I left hungry. Going back to my kitchen to make a PBJ. With ice cold glass of milk. I could have saved the $21 w/ tip and just stayed home. This is not an inside dying experience I would want to do again. It's kind of like going through the drive-thru. Only you have a place to sit down. I will not dart in the door again however I do know many people...
Read moreWe visited Los Tacos on a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was not busy. We placed our food orders at the counter. Drinks were self service as was seating. The sweet tea container was empty so we opted for unsweetened instead. Since it was our first visit, we ordered an assortment of food items. We ordered supreme nachos, a soft taco, a crunchy taco, a beef enchilada, a chicken enchilada, rice and refried beans.
The restaurant itself was nasty. Every table we looked at had remnants of food or liquid from previous guests. My spouse went back out to our vehicle to get our hand cleaner wipes to clean our table prior to sitting. We observed another guest do the same thing after they ordered their meals but before sitting.
The supreme nachos item was acceptable. The meat/bean topping was sufficient for the amount of chips. However, there was insufficient cheese for all the chips and topping.
The soft taco was just ok. Not bad but not particularly enjoyable either.
One would expect that with the word 'taco' in the restaurant name one of their signature items would be their tacos, right? Nope! The crunchy taco was literally inedible. The shell itself was so dry it was in two pieces upon delivery to our table. The shredded chicken (picture included) was dehydrated and so hard and dry it was not possible to bite it. Apparently, the crunchy taco was left over and spent too much time under a sun lamp.
The chicken and beef enchiladas were the best items on our plates. They were moist, hot and tasty but lacked sufficient meat filling.
The rice and refried beans were, well, rice and refried beans. There's not more to say about them.
My spouse and I have a saying we use when we have an unsatisfactory experience at a restaurant or other store. We say, "Everybody gets a little of our money." Well, Los Tacos got about $30 of our money...but they won't...
Read moreI’ve allowed this place the last opportunity to redeem themselves…disappointed over and over and for the last time today. The food is overpriced and awful. Consistently bad. Tasteless, greasy, crumbling crunchy tacos. I’ve dined in and carried out crunchy tacos - Split and halved before I pick them up. Queso is awful, processed thin and runny. $12 cold nachos with a stingy portion of crumbled chicken pellets, blobbed on dry refried beans, and stale chips. Chicken isn’t shredded, it’s literally tasteless, colorless, pellet like pieces. Quesadillas are a soggy, fall apart mess. Nothing but meat and a thin soggy tortilla. I am being generous referring to their quesadillas as quesadillas- awful. They don’t cut them properly- have to eat them with a spoon. Pepsi products (yuck) are always warm and flat. Typically “customer service” employees are burned out, annoyed, overwhelmed, understaffed and it shows. The location is what keeps this place open. This place is for tourists , transplants or novices that just do not know truly good well prepared basic Mexican food. I’ve spent my last dime here. If you can’t get the crunchy tacos and a basic quesadilla right, forget about it. Agave for the win- they nail...
