I'm a trucker from Missouri just passing through figured I would stop here for the night after reading reviews I figured I would give the all you can eat catfish a try. I wasn't used to the seat yourself after standing inline for several minutes another guest pointed out that you see yourself. After sitting down a waitress came over and took my order a different waitress about five minutes later brought my food out with only three pieces of fish for the all you can eat She also asked at the time of bringing me my food if I wanted to place another order of fish I said yes I thought maybe they just don't want to be wasteful in case someone doesn't eat it I was done within 10 minutes.... I sat there for a little while and decided to use the restroom after washing my hands there was no paper towels I informed the waitress at the counter she said that she had already told someone to refill them and handed me some napkins. I went back to the table and sat for another 15 minutes and still no fish during this time a different waitress [ Kat ] was cleaning off several tables around me and never stopped by to refill my drink or ask me what I was waiting on finally about five minutes later she was bringing out some food for the guest behind me she stopped and asked if she could bring me anything I said yes fish that I ordered 20 plus minutes ago would be nice she brings me out two pieces of fish I thought to myself okay maybe they don't want you to eat all you can eat... and still no refill on my drink. So I asked her at that time could you bring me three more pieces of fish and a refill on my drink please. If this is what southern hospitality is maybe you should come to Missouri and we'll show you how it's done................. I told the cashier when paying my tab that the food was okay but the service was unacceptable she explained to me that there was a bad batch of fish so they had to re-cook more fish I thought that was kind of funny after seeing 3 big plates of fish brought out to...
Read moreI read the "home style" "home cooking at its best" reviews so being a truck driver and having to stay a few nights here I decided to try it. Has a great area for trucks to park and maneuver around so I gave it 1 star, my 4 legged co-driver enjoyed the chicken strip so I gave it 2 stars, cant speak to the price because I didn't ask but I did leave them $5for a tip on a take out country fried steak dinner. Now being raised here just across 157 in the valley I can remember my friends homes and their mothers "home" cooking, this is not the same. The okra was fried but still soft which should never be the case, the cornbread had absolutely no taste at all (at least it wasn't sweet), the white gravy was decent just as the steak was, the potatoes were bland except for the gravy, and there isn't a self respecting lady from the south that I know that would ever serve instant mashed potatoes and call them home cooked. I ordered take out but got no eating utensils, no napkin, and no salt or pepper so make sure you have some in your back pocket, I asked for 2 sides of fried okra but only got 1. The packaging the food came in looked great and was sturdy along with the bag that says thank you but this isn't home cooking its just the ordinary, unseasoned food you can get at any nursing home in the 49 states i travel thru including finding it in Canada. So sadly I couldn't give any stars for my plate because it simply fell short of my expectations but this could have just been an off day and my opinion is my own, so give it a try it may be...
Read moreMy husband and I were travelling for work and just wanted a good southern home cooked meal. It just so happened that this little place was less than a mile from our hotel stay. Momma Jeans went above and beyond our expectations ! :) We were greeted quickly upon arriving and our waitress Martha(Margret? So sorry, I'm terrible with names!) was excellent ! She was super friendly and kept our drinks refilled. She also apologized several times about the wait which wasn't super long in our opinion. They did have a sign on the door stating they were short staffed but we couldn't tell. My husband got the 2 piece fish, fried okra, and tots. It was a large portion. It also came with 3 big hush puppies. He said it was delicious. I got the meatloaf, green beans, hash brown casserole, and pineapple casserole. It was sooo good ! A ton of food and such great prices ! After tax (including 2 drinks as well) it was $26 for dinner. You can't beat that ! We will definitely return when in the...
