I go to Shirley's all the time, and am constantly impressed with the quality of the food and the service. I have even recommended it to plenty of people from all around a 5 county area. Even had a friend of mine come all the way from Atlanta. He just raved about it. That is why today was such a letdown and totally out of character. And it was all because of one person. We arrived at 1:45. Plenty of time to order and eat before they closed at 3. Well, we walked in, seated ourselves, and proceeded to wait. Now, the only waitress was busy at the register with some to go orders, but, they weren't busy in the restaurant.. A few tables with customers so no big deal. We waited and waited. And waited. Not even a " Hello, be with you in a minute." Nothing. Finally, after all the to go orders were gone, she starts cleaning tables. After a good 20 minutes, she come over to take drink orders. Regina orders water w/ lemon, I get sweet tea. She goes backk, presumably to get those , but instead starts cleaning tables again. We wait a few more minutes, still nothing. We get up to leave, still nothing. I guess cleaning is more important than our money. So sad that this one girl ruined it for us. We left after 30 minutes without our drinks coming to the table. Lucky to get...
Read moreOur very first time to dine there. Upon entering their door, I was delighted with an atmosphere which included the decor, hospitality and the wonderful aromas. Food was appetizing to the eyes, delicious to the palate, plentiful to the tummy and easy on the wallet. As it was the evening of Valentine's Day, the place was full with patron's, yet our additional requests were fullfilled in only a matter of minutes. Restroom was tip top condition as well as the entire restaurant. ( I still chuckle over the words on the restroom wall plaque: " Wash your hands Say your prayers cause Jesus and germs are everywhere!")😊 We live 53 miles from there. But whenever I should be in their city again, I'll definitely choose to re-live that overall delightful experience. Got bless & Thank you! to all at Shirley's Mainline BBQ who made Valentine's 2020 a happy...
Read moreWe ate there for the first time today. The food was really good, the service was excellent and the atmosphere nostalgic. It brings to mind the old time restaurant, lounge, pool hall atmosphere. Yet, it does not have pool tables, nor does it appear to serve alcohol (don't quote me on that, I did not ask). There was classic country music playing at just the right volume!! I hate to eat at a place that has music blaring so loud that it's impossible to carry on a conversation. I can't tolerate freezing and shaking while I eat either. The temperature was pleasant here, neither too hot nor cold. All things taken together, a very nice experience. We...
