Although it says open 24 hours on Google, apparently that is NOT the case. I wheeled in (I am a trucker) and placed my order at close to 11PM on a Saturday night). There was another customer waiting for a carry out order when I arrived left shortly afterwards. By this time I was given my food in a few short minutes, I was apparently the last customer. I normally do not get carry out unless I need to roll on. I was shutting down for the night and preferred to eat at a table. I order my special order with no pickles, no onions and no mustard. The sticker on the sandwich box even said that. Despite this, my order had pickles, onions and mustard on it. I went to the counter, which was unattended and waited a few minutes before an employee in the kitchen came out to see what I needed. Obviously they had to make a new sandwich which delayed my departure. At roughly 11:30 PM, two non managerial employees approached me as I had the last 3 bites of the sandwich in my hand to tell me they are closed and "I need to leave". I was bewildered at being spoken to like I was some sort of vagrant. I then asked if they were told to tell me this by someone else. One of the 2 employees said that they were told to tell me that. I angrily replied for them to tell who gave the order to come out and tell me him or herself. I could tell this put the employees in an awkward situation. They were rather young and I am sure my response might have startled them. They sheepishly walked back to the kitchen and I waited a couple minutes to see if whoever was in the back could address this rude experience. No one came out and I left. I asked the truck stop employee at the Love's counter for a phone number to contact the store management. They provided one for me. I will follow up to complain tomorrow with a phone call. I am used to substandard service day and night. Normally I don't complain. You mess up an order, I want it redone. No problem. But to to tell a paying customer who was given absolutely no indication that they were about to close, when I placed an eat in order, not good! When I was brought the order (to my table) I thanked the employee. When the second employee brought out the correctly made sandwich, I again thanked the employee. Even though I am a paying customer, I am not above thanking employees. I truly appreciate it. It's how I was raised, and it's how I roll. Now, I will admit I reacted angrily to being told that I need to leave. In all my 62 years on this earth, I have never heard a paying customer spoken to like that. I was shocked. Never, ever, under any circumstances, tell any customer what their needs are. If you are about to be closing and it is not obvious, politely tell a customer that, and ask, not tell, the customer if it would be OK if the order is a takeout since it is closing time. Frankly, I wouldn't have thought anything unusual about that. And lastly, if your employees have not been trained this, that's on the manager as a failure. At least as a manager you might take a look at the situation and tell the customer yourself. Not coming out after I insisted the employees tell you to speak to me, and not even addressing it, is bush league. I personally apologize to the employees for my shocked reaction. In hindsight I am not proud for reacting angrily. I feel bad for them having to be put in an awkward situation. A situation the manager wouldn't even address his or herself. I would not want to work for a...
Read moreGo in about 9:30 on a Saturday. I notice people standing in the lobby, no one in the drive thru. Before I placed my order 4 different people came in with the wrong order unhappy. 6 HS early college age kids in the back in their phones. One kid at the front counter doing his best, but trying to fix all the mistakes.
Finally after about 5 minutes time to place my order. Nothing crazy, 2 sausage egg and cheese sandwiches with a hash brown and coffee. Rang it up. I paid. After about 2 minutes the kid comes back and says we can’t do it.
Do what?
Complete your order.
What do you mean?
The people in the back said they can’t do it, we are out of food.
I look in the back. The group socializing and in their phones.
He offered me a hash brown and coffee. At this point I knew something was up. I just asked for a refund no problem.
Went into the connected gas station next door got a coffee.
As I walk out some lady orders 10 sausage egg and cheese muffins. Made without issue.
If they were out of food, you’d think you’d have a sign or tell the customers. When that lady got her order. It was just an inconvenience to the staff...
Read moreHad to of been 30 minutes I waited for my food. My number was skipped as were others that got frustrated. I was supposed to be served before them as they complained and put themselves ahead of me. When I finally received my food I was in a hurry at that point as I'm now behind on my day. When I got to open the rapping I come to find my sandwich burnt to black. I'm not sure how it could get to that point and how someone could "overlook" this. The time it took and the quality I got may have came from stressed and lack of staff, but to serve something like that.. was disrespect. With this respect lvl, this person shouldn't serve food. As I've already waited this long I would've waited longer to actually be able to eat. That was my breakfast unfortunately. Turns out because you guys were busy I didn't deserve breakfast. Even if I paid for it. Going to fast food is to save time not because I desire this meal. Make it at least edible. And I didn't choose your job, if you don't like it.. change it. Don't make the people on the other...
