Great food. Great service. And a 5-star review for a restaurant that had just had a power outage and was operating without computers and network (our waitress calculated the bill and tax in her head because she could not ring up the transaction!). The food was amazing! There were four in our party and food included the Beast Burger, Halibut and Chips, Rockfish and Chips, Seafood Chowder, and Halibut Quesadilla. The halibut was the best I tasted during our entire visit to Alaska. The seafood chowder was amazing. The beast burger was delicious! They source from local growers, which I appreciate. The beer list was fabulous (for IPA lovers, try the 49th State Solstice IPA). My only 'complaint' was that the Bistro wasn't easy to find. Follow signs for Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge (turn onto Talkeetna Lodge Road from Talkeetna Spur Rd)--it's worth the...

The restaurant has an amazing view of the mountains and the food is decent but the service is very poor. We dined in 2 times one for lunch and the other for breakfast. The lunch menu had an incorrect description for the veggie burger, the description was black bean pattie but what we got was an impossible burger. After checking with staff for a couple of times they insisted it was black bean but finally confirmed it was an impossible burger. During the breakfast we had to follow up multiple times to get a server for our table and had to wait over 30 minutes to get our food. I think it is overall poor management at the restaurant. It’s a shame because it’s a great location. The restaurant is within the Talkeetna lodge where we stayed, we enjoyed our stay at the lodge but just wouldn’t recommend dining at...

The hostess at the entrance was wonderful — very kind and helpful, even recommending an app for watching the Aurora, which we appreciated. The food overall was enjoyable, and the view from the restaurant was beautiful. However, our server forgot to bring my side of potatoes. By the time I mentioned it, everyone at the table had already finished eating. Instead of apologizing or offering to make it right, he simply said he hadn’t brought them and insisted they were “ready.” He eventually brought them out, but as I feared, the potatoes had clearly been sitting in the kitchen for a while and arrived lukewarm. In most restaurants, a dish in such a situation would be offered as a courtesy, but that didn’t happen here. Overall, while the setting and food were lovely, the service left something...

We ate a number of meals here and had excellent service for them all. Yolanda was friendly and took care of us. The hostesses at the front went above and beyond with our “to go” orders (so we could eat in the main lobby closer to fire). The bar tender was great, acknowledged new customers immediately and got drinks quickly. And of course the food was delicious! Just before we left we all ordered five more bowls of that delicious seafood chowder! Highly recommend!!
