Just Mediocre Food BUT AWFUL SERVICE

Our group of 31 purchased combo-tickets for the tram ride and $20.00 vouchers for lunch. We departed immediately for the mountaintop, but the vouchers for lunch expired 3 days ago! Rather than accept their own mistake—and just honor our vouchers—a cashier, a supervisor and a manager all decided that we needed to wait until reissued vouchers could be sent up on another tram. Thus, we experienced 30 minutes of insanity in the windowless deli and lost the time to enjoy the views.

While we waited, the line began to grow with other customers not in our group. A nameless supervisor suggested that we should step aside for the other folks. We had been warned about the long lines, so we refused to move. The supervisor then began to route the others ahead of us.

Then a member of our group asked for the manager and suggested that we could be placing our orders, getting our lunches and settling our bills when new vouchers came. That process began to work until vouchers arrived, and the cashier stopped taking our orders, while she began to settle earlier bills. Serving customers was not a priority for anyone on this staff, including the out-of-touch manager without a clue today!

The manager never offered an apology.

On our descent on the tram, I went to the ticket office to ask who had issued those expired vouchers. John denied that he had done anything wrong; an off-duty manager had sold and printed the combo-tickets. I asked how did the expired vouchers get in the hands of our group leader. He called a second employee to come to the window, Isaiah, who like John, defended his actions and offered no apology for the big SNAFU.

Poorly trained or just idiots, I don’t know; but I would never waste my time or money in this establishment. What a...

We over payed for Absolutely the worst food I’ve ever eaten! We were particularly excited to bring family from Kentucky, California and Arizona up the tram, then to venture into the Bore Tide for what in the past has been deliciously prepared 5-Star deli food. 4 of the 10 of us ordered Ruebens after finding out the menu online is 2 years outdated. First the cornbeef was cornbeef jerky! A few thin slices too tough to eat. 2nd—no juicy rueben—in fact no juice or sauerkraut at all. We could smell sauerkraut but couldn’t SEE any! No sauce all! We tried to get it down but after Two bites took all 4 back up and when we showed there was no sauerkraut on the Reubens we were asked “oh you wanted sauerkraut?” The young man who asked that put our sandwiches under the warmer WHERE WE COULD SEE THEM AT ALL TIMES. The. Went in the kitchen to report. I assume it was a chef who came out with 2 small cups of sauerkraut and 2 smaller cups of the aioli sauce and literally threw them half on the counter and half on our sandwich holding tray. Again the young man who dispensed the order tried to politely smooth things over by neatly placing the cups on the trays as the chef not acknowledging us at all stormed back into the kitchen.

We finished making our own sandwiches but ultimately could not eat the slivers of cornbeef jerky on the sandwiches. If I could give -5 stars for the food and the treatment I would.

One black bean sandwich was good. The other was absolutely not but our California family didn’t want to complain.

Roast beef sandwich was decent Kentucky family said. 3 of 5 stars.

The sweet potatoes fries were delicious. 5/5 stars. The...

Great food (much better than I expected, honestly). Food is a little pricey but we got tickets for the tram ride that included a $30 food voucher (per ticket) and that made it feel a lot more worth it. Friendly staff. Amazing views with room to walk around outside. Tram ride up is really fun. There were people hiking up there too. Would recommend!

Edit: I see some people saying their wait for food was super long but we did not experience this. Waited maybe 10-15 mins and got good quality hot food. I was...

We stopped in for a quick lunch after a hike and never anticipated 30+ minute wait times for a sandwich and chicken strips once we got through the line to order from the only staff member taking orders. The food was average but did come out hot. It became apparent that the deli is currently understaffed. Great facility but the good just didn’t match this trip. Prices are pretty steep, even for Alaska, so get the ride and dine to save about $10 per adult if also taking the tram.

Awful place overall 20 minutes just to order and then 40 minutes wait to get a so-so sandwich, Then another 15 minutes to find a table . Place was full of disgruntled customers waiting for food and tables. Giving it one star only for the views. Come for the hike or tram experience, bring your own food and forget about this place! Even if you get a credit from the hotel, your time is Alaska is worth much more !

The Bore Tide Deli and Bar is a great stop for a cold drink, cold and hot sandwiches, and a great view of Alyeska and Girdwood. There are plenty of booths and tables, so you should find a place to sit easily. The sandwiches are made from scratch, so you'll have a wait however the food will taste fresh. No matter what you order you'll always enjoy the view out the windows.
