I must say I'm a little surprised at the good reviews I have seen here. We went to Burger Jimâs for a work lunch. As we walked in I could see them patting out fresh hamburger patties in the back, which impressed me. We ordered burgers and the staff was friendly enough. The burgers though I'm afraid are seriously lacking. The bun was toasted with oil, too much oil, and, soggy. But the soggy bun was delightful compared to the actual pattie inside. I could tell they used the cheapest hamburger possible, then to further insult, they added eggs, breadcrumbs, and flour inside the burger meat to stretch it and make it go further. Guess that's one way to increase profits. The pattie was slimy and soggy and tasted less like a hamburger than a veggie pattie. The pattie was then cooked on a cooktop instead of grilled, and you could taste the filth on the food. But a soggy burger wouldn't be complete without dumping on the condiments to make the most perfect soggy, tasteless burger I have ever had in my life. No joke Mc- Donald's burgers are better. That's saying a lot because I'm not a big McDonald's fan. I find it interesting that everyone is raving about the fries. I mean they weren't awful, but they come straight from a bag from Sysco. I know this because it's the exact fries we get where I used to work. I definitely will never be going back. Seriously take my advice and pay for an overpriced burger somewhere else, anywhere else really would be an...
Read moreTonight I used Doordash pickup and ordered 3 hamburgers to pick up on my way home from work. 2 with onion rings and 1 with fries. I even ordered mine with an extra patty. Until tonight, I've never had issue with burgers from here. In fact, they're our households favorite. However, tonight i arrived a little before my scheduled time and was told I'd have to wait a few minutes. Didn't take long and I was on my way with my food. Went 5 minutes down the road to my house where I found my extra patty was missing, but I was charged for it. Worse yet, the patties on all the burgers tasted burned, were cold, and weren't juicy as normal. They were dry. Almost as dry as the stiff, normally soft buns. Because the onion rings were slightly burned and cold, the only thing that wasn't out of sorts was the French fries. For food I had to wait for it sure seemed like it had been sitting around, going cold and stale. My wife suggested we just go in and order from now on but if this was fresh, I'm even weary of doing that.
Yes, we ate the food. It was no where near the quality we've come to expect but I want going to drive back. I had just finished a 13 hour day and wanted to go home. I had no clue as to what...
Read moreLet's start with the bad. I was quite disappointed that fries are not included with the $13 burger, but are in fact, a $5 extra. This seems pretty excessive to me and almost made me walk out before even ordering. $41 for 2 burgers with fries is tough to be happy about. Also, the person at the counter reminded me twice that they were closing in 45 minutes. This made me feel rushed and took away from the overall experience. I don't like the feeling I'm going to get booted out with half eaten food right at the moment of closing.
Now, the good. The burger was delicious, juicy and HOT! Cheese was melty, and the toppings were ample and good quality. The bun appears to be made in-house. The fries were also nice and hot, right out of the fryer. For the extra $5, they do give you an ample amount of fries, but I wouldn't call it $5 worth. Overall, the quality of the food itself was hard to complain about. Flavorful, hot and seemed to be assembled with care.
Was the food good enough to offset the negative experience and high cost? Hard to say, but I wouldn't come here if you are looking for a dining experience or if you are...
