Nikko Garden — Restaurant in Alaska

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST Chinese food/buffet I've ever experienced! Poor quality, poor variety, poor freshness. I'm no stickler for authenticity but they served SPAGHETTI NOODLES as LO MEIN! Food was barely warmer than room temperature. The selections with sauce had set long enough that they had developed a jelly like film over them and beneath this layer of jelly the sauces were both watery and clumpy. To add insult to injury, for me (not even a full plate and two glasses of root beer) and my 3 year old son (half a plate of spaghetti and a glass of water) I was charged $26.70! If you are visiting the Kenai/Soldotna area from out of town, AVOID AVOID AVOID THIS HORRIBLE RESTAURANT! Wait till you get home to get your Chinese fix. You'll be glad you did. If you're a local and this is one of your only miserable choices you have my deepest sympathy. As someone who loves Chinese food of all types I believe that I would give up on it completely rather than settle for the complete garbage they're peddling at...

Don't order the $20 appetizer plate unless you want a plate of soggy cold deep fried tempura stuff like cheap shrimp, carrots, and mushrooms. I think the fried rice was right off the buffet. The sushi roll was good but not what I expected, didn't come with wasabi or ginger and was filled with iceberg lettuce instead of rice. Cheap ingredients for expensive menu.
