Best Western King Salmon Soldotna. I got to say, it was an terrible experience stay. Well! First of all, when i walked in into the office, i got to meet the front desk person name Seth as he checking me in, i mentioned to him i booked a room for only a night an ask him if he could extend for another for a day so make from December 27, 2020 check out December 29,2020. I am telling him that i am really tired and I need some sleep. I didn’t tell him that i was driving and sleeping in my car for the last two nights already. He didn’t ask me any question at all like how my day was and so forth. I just told him I’m tired and want to relax. The only question he ask me if i prefer to stay in the first floor or the second floor, what is the difference i ask him, he said 1st floor pays more money $10.00 per night, (no steps to the room, easy to the office and to the parking lot.) I told him i don’t mind staying in the second floor as long as you give me the best room with the smile 😄 and since according to him there’s just a couple quests in the hotel. He gave room #204: walked into the room seems look nice. I should pay attention with my first sign that ended up with a night mare misery, stress, and more tired. . Noticed the floor wasn’t vacuum. Under the sink the floor area wasn’t clean. . Bathtub wasn’t draining water well. . The exhaust fan has an annoying sound.
During the my sleep I keep waking up because, i feel itch on my fingers and arms. I got up, turned on the lights and there is was, little red bumps bite everywhere. Check on the sheets, and pillows, i can’t see anything at first. Got my lavender essential oil applied on myself and everywhere hoping that would deter to bugs. The itch subsided coz i applied alcohol on it, somehow fall asleep again, around 3 am felt a lot of itchiness on my neck, got up look at the mirror with barely open eyes my goodness i had a lot of bright red bug bite. I said that’s it, felt really upset. Turned on all the lights. Look intently on the pillow what causing it. And there is was * BED BUGS BABIES ** there’s already my blood in them that’s why i can see them clearly. got my iphone took a PICTURES AND A VIDEO for my proof, i also took pictures on my neck where the red bugs bites are. Seth the man on the front desk told me if i have any concerns just give as a call. I have been calling him many times switching between my phone and the hotel phone but NO LUCK nobody picks up the phone. Very sad.😌😥 I even went to the office but it was dark and the door was lock. Not much i can’t do, it’s winter time in a small town of Alaska. But the thing is, at least pick up the phone and address my concern, it’s the hotel obligation to help out their guests. If Seth or other employee that works there like and love their sleep i should enjoy my sleep too. At that point being mad and upset and can’t sleep i fixes my things up, i iron all my remaining clothes, and using the hair dryer, blowing hot air to all my stuff make ups and other personal items.
. I was finally get a hold of Seth at the front desk at 7 am Monday, the 28th of December. . After hearing all my story, he said he needs to talk to her manager and relay what my issue was. I can’t any longer, went to the office. Shows my neck bites and the video. He said sorry, But it wasn’t sincere, the kind of sorry that he doesn’t care. He’s trying to give another room, next door room. I said what if there’s also a bed bugs there. He i can’t tell you that. I didn’t take it, checked out the same time. I ask him cancel my extended stay. I ended up of no charge during a night of stay. At that point can’t tell if i should be happy or just be out...
Read moreWhere do I start. Checking in at 11pm the front desk was rude. Would barely look at me and when I told her "I'm sorry, I cant hear you" when she mumbled asking for my ID, so she yelled IiiiiiiiiiiD! She kept on rolling her eyes at me.
My room was disgusting. I found someone's boxers and socks in the back corner of the room. The fridge has crusty old milk all over inside. The shower had hair all over it. The TV didn't work. Thank goodness my kids brought my own blankets for the long car ride we didn't touch their blankets and just laid on top using our blankets. But was I about to contact the front for help? Heck no! I didn't wanna deal with that rude attitude again. If she rolled her eyes at me again, something would have gone flying in her direction.
We drove 4 hours down here for cheer and football. We all booked to stay at this hotel per request by Coach so we would all be together.. After getting into our room, I get a call from my Coach that the front desk gave away their reservation! So their family with 3 kids have no where to stay at 11pm! The manager told Coach that Coach was unprofessional for not having money in their account. That they tried to call all day(call log showed no call and after checking the phone number on file was correct). Then front desk told my Coach "good luck, everywhere in Soldotna is booked out."
Zero care.
They do not care about you, and will show it the moment you walk in.
The only upside was checking out in the day. The younger girl was nice. If you find yourself checking in with a heavier set lady, with bleached blonde hair, a lip ring just make sure you record your interactions from start to finish. I took an incredibly detailed video of my room incase they want to charge me for anything. I suggest you do the same. Don't trust this place if...
Read moreI have stayed at Best Western King Salmon previously and it was a great place - the staff was very friendly and helpful, services were great, room was clean and ready. I booked several room for this weekend because my daughter is a member of the Bartlett Hockey team and there was a tournament in Homer, Kenai and Soldotna this weekend. When setting up arrangements, the hotel desk clerk was on top of things, got me 2 rooms side by side and was great! She was exceptional! Then, the trip was cancelled due to weather - less than 24 hours before check-in. I called, the desk clerk answered in a completely friendly and professional way, requesting to call me back as she had a customer in front of her. That was fine. I received a call back quickly and explained what had happened and that I needed to cancel my rooms, fully expecting to pay for the rooms because it was inside the 24-hour cancellation policy. The lady asked me if the rooms were booked for the hockey tournament, which I confirmed was the case. She immediately told me that they’ve had mass cancellations due to that very reason and that even though I was inside the 24-hours, she would cancel the reservations free of charge as it wasn’t a situation that I could control. I was flabbergasted. In the world these days with companies trying to recoup profits after the last several years of Covid, Best Western and their employees going that extra mile to ensure their customers aren’t affected by something outside their control was just mind blowing. All the desk clerk requested was that if we needed a hotel in Soldotna again, to please give them a call. You’d better believe it! With customer service like that, I won’t stay anywhere...
