I told this cook one little thing: The fried bread was too greasy to eat. it was visible, it covered our fingers in oil, it coated our mouths in oil, it was too much. I got yelled at and treated like garbage for it in return. I didn't go to make a big deal out of it but he yelled at me with my kid standing right there as well as several people either walking by or waiting for food and he called me names and threw my refund at me and told me to go eat elsewhere. When I told him about it being too greasy, he asked me compared to what because that's what it is. No it isn't. Then he asked where and I said the whole outer layer was soaked and went right through to the middle in some areas. When I told him that I bake for a living, he yelled Literally that's what I do all day. When I told him that he could've taken what I said and did better instead of being an a$$hole, he said that I was the same. He threw b!tch in there too and all I wanted was a refund. But since I'm here: Are you or any of you Native? If not, cultural appropriation. Your dessert bars have too much flour in them. Everything tastes plain or dry. Nothing is well seasoned. I ate here on the last day last year and thought it was seasonal burn out. I went two more times, once with my kid and once alone and tried two different things to see if it improved or if I just ordered the wrong thing. Nope. Today sealed the deal. I'm not sure where these high ratings come from. The food is mediocre at best and the service has been terrible. If you can't just calmly issue a refund or offer a remake, you are in the wrong...
Read moreI cannot overstate how much I love eating here. Whether it's for brunch, lunch, dinner, or a snack on the road. They have incredible service, a variety of tasty food to offer, and the food is very filling for the price. We live in Kenai but the drive to Sterling is ALWAYS worth it for food that never disappoints. My personal recommendations? The works or a Philly quesadilla with a berry spritzer. If you're a coffee drinker, try their iced coffee paired with a dessert bar!...
Read moreExcellent food in Sterling Alaska. It’s easy to miss this little spot of deliciousness. Don’t pass it up. My companions have had the veg made with chickpeas and have exclaimed “Oh wow!” The reindeer gyro is excellent. The fresh house made fry bread and tzatziki sauce are very well made. Good fast service. An outdoor covered patio is well appointed. Layers may be necessary. A bathroom is available - just ask...
