If you're looking for Casual Fine Dining in rural Indiana, this is the place for you. Out of five trips, I've tried something new each time - it's all good.
The ribeye is the best you'll get outside of your home grill (it's better than Fleming's imo). The Main Street Burger (their namesake/signature burger) is out of this world, the secret is the locally sourced beef, and the incredible bacon jam. A decent chicken breast is hard to do, especially fresh (not a frozen breast like Applebee's), and One10 West Main knocks it out of the park - the asparagus and cheesy corn sides were the best I'd ever had (cheese and corn? Yep, it actually works very well together). The Baked Cheese, Macaroni and Cheese, and Pulled Pork Burger are tops as well.
Most recently, I had the Cajun Shrimp - I was pleasantly surprised to see how plump and large the prawns were when the dish came out. They were the size of small lobster tails and served with a rich and creamy polenta with roasted peppers for a kick. The prawns themselves were perfectly seasoned, and tasted just like lobster, and very fresh! As I was surprised with the cheesy corn that's served with the chicken -I was equally surprised with the al dente seasoned brussel sprouts - brussel sprouts and shrimp? You bet! It's well worth it, and tasty!
The restaurant just finished their soft opening, and has worked out all of their kinks. They celebrated the grand opening on 12/26, and are ready to serve you! is still getting their serve-staff trained. When you visit be sure to start off with one of the 14 beers on draft (all local Indiana breweries, I prefer the PB Sammich), or try one of the signature drinks like the Gateway (made with Hotel Tango Bourbon - a subtle nod to the distillery's Albion roots), and you'll be very glad that you did.
tldr: Why go to a chain restaurant with average food when you can have GREAT food for less at...
Read moreIf I could give less than one star I would. Server was clueless and got things wrong from the start, told us they didn't carry specific items only to tell the table next to us they did. Put in the order for the wrong appetizer, my steak was full of tendons, grissel, and not rendered fat. Almost looked poached. It was cold when it hit the table. I was willing to work with it at first for a good flavor however, as soon as I cut it the tendons were white and the fat hard like a cheap cut of steak. Asked for a recook on a new steak. They threw it back on the grill (the original) and my once medium steak became well done. I told them I didn't want it because of the way it was recooked and that I would just pay for the sides and to remove the steak. They brought out another steak (a new one)and I told them again I didn't want the steak. They got mad at me for not wanting it when I never asked for it the third time. I told the manager that my experience was awful and she told me not to come back. I said that I would not and that I'd leave a review. If your going to sell a 25.00 steak it had better be good and it wasn't. Total bill for two people 99.51. Food was flavorless, service subpar for the environment, and management difficult. If you are going to have an expensive restaurant in this economy it needs to be...
Read moreWe will never go back. My food, I got the fish, was honestly some of the best fish I think I've ever had. My husband got the Black and Bleu Salmon, which was overly salty. My son got the pork tenderloin - which was a pork tenderloin...from the moment we sat down, it was pure disappointment. We waited and waited without much acknowledgement. And there were only maybe 16 other people there. And it went downhill service wise from there. Now me, I love food. Just as much as the next person. But I'm normally still hungry after my serving. So I was indecisive when it came to-Do I get 2 or 3 pieces of fish. I know ... No biggie. So my husband suggested I just get the 3 pieces. Evidently, he was in the wrong. Because Everytime our waitress came around, she would dig at that. "Does she need anything else, did she like everything? Do you always order for your wife? Do you make decisions for her?" Welllll..... No he doesn't and I also don't mind when he does. He knows me. And I know him. And I think it's sweet he looks out for me!!! Our first and last time there. And I don't even feel bad about it. I just feel bad we left her with a decent tip- because that's...
