Originally I wanted to give this place four stars. I had their The Big Meat Up, and my companion had Bacon Mushroom Swiss Burger. They tasted pretty good except both were too salty. I could live with that and would have given 4 stars. But the following incident seriously upset us. It was about half an hour before they closed. My companion ordered a cappuccino to go. The cashier, who was a young girl, took the order. Two customers came in, she helped them first, which was fine. Then she seemingly proceeded to make the cappuccino for us. It took really a long time and we could hear the milk being steamed several times. We have no idea what she was doing because she went back and forth many times. Finally we got up from the table and stood in front of the counter waiting for the cappuccino. We could hear something like scooping milk foam so we thought that must be ours. She saw us, put a lid on the coffee cup and handed to my companion. We thanked her, she said nothing back, and we left. When we got back to our place, my companion opened the lid and it was a black coffee with no milk at all. What had she been doing the whole time? If she didn’t know how to make cappuccino, why didn’t she ask for help? Her knowingly handed us a black coffee instead of the cappuccino we ordered was unforgivable. My companion paid for a cappuccino with nice tip and got a black coffee he didn’t like. Is that how you run your business?

I live in the area, so I am familiar with The Eatery, but today I felt overlooked and disrespected. I showed up at almost 9 AM, I got my order taken, I ordered 2 breakfast burritos. There was only one other person in the establishment and all he ordered was a black coffee and he was gone shortly after. A few minutes later there was a rush of what may have been construction workers. Usually there are college aged looking kids who take my order, but today there was a woman at the counter who was carrying on conversations with all of them and certain things she said made it sound like they were regulars. Every single one of the men who arrived after me got their order before me. There was anywhere from 10-12 people after me ordering burgers, burritos, etc. and all of them got their food before me. I am patient and do not mind waiting, but she didn’t even have the decency to check in with me and tell me hey, it’s taking a bit longer than expected I haven’t forgotten about you. Nope nothing, I asked if my food would be much longer and wow to my surprise my food was done a few minutes after. The cook actually brought me the food HIMSELF, and all the men in the restaurant who arrived after me got their food handed to them by her. I UNDERSTAND things happen, but this felt very intentional and as a resident of the area, I do NOT...

This place is great! As one of the few local options, I'm glad one of them is a pizza joint. The crowd is unpredictable due to close proximity to ABQ Studios, but it's worth the wait. Spend your time enjoying the garden in front of the restaurant or check out the awesome view from the parking lot out back (50+ mile visibility). Haven't tried the beer or anything there yet, but they have a small selection of local and...
